11 CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Before performing any maintenance or cleaning work, always pull out the
mains plug!
11.1 Cleaning
▪ Do not spray the unit with water. Ingress of water may destroy the Switch/plug
combination unit and the electric motor.
▪ Clean the unit with a cloth, hand brush, etc.
11.2 Expert inspection is required:
▪ If the lawn mower strikes an object.
▪ If the motor stops suddenly.
▪ If the blade is bent (do not align!).
▪ If the motor shaft is bent (do not align!).
▪ If short-circuit occurs when the cable is connected.
▪ If the gears are damaged.
▪ If the V-belt is defective.
11.3 Maintenance
▪ Check of grass box and any damaged parts
▪ Check the grass box for signs of wear at more frequent intervals.
▪ Replace any worn-out or damaged parts.
▪ For any repair work, please contact our Service Department.
▪ Only use original spare parts for maintenance.
▪ The element exposed to heaviest wear is the blade. Check the condition of the blade and
its fixture at regular intervals. When the blade is worn out it must be replaced. If excessive
vibration of the lawn mower should occur, it is a sign of the blade not being properly
balanced or having been deformed by impact. In such case, repair or replace the blade.
11.4 Replacing and re-sharpening the mowing blade.
▪ At the end of the mowing season always re-sharpen the mowing blade or, if required,
replace the mowing blade with a new one.
▪ Preferably have the mowing blade re-sharpened or replaced by a customer service center
(measurement of imbalance).
Unbalanced blades will cause the lawn mower to vibrate violently-risk of
accident!
