1 APPLIANCE
The laser crosscut saw is designed to crosscut wood and plastic commensurate with the
machine’s size. The machine is not to be used for cutting fire wood.
It is not designed for commercial use.
WARNING! Read this manual and general safety instructions carefully
before using the appliance, for your own safety. Your power tool should
only be passed on together with these instructions.

5 CORRECT USE OF YOUR POW8135
The laser crosscut saw is designed to crosscut wood and plastic commensurate with the
machine’s size.
The machine is not to be used for cutting fire wood.
The machine is to be used only for its prescribed purpose.
Any use other than that mentioned is considered to be a case of misuse. The user/operator
and not the manufacturer shall be liable for any damage or injury resulting from such cases of
misuse.
The machine is to be operated only with suitable saw blades. It is prohibited to use any type of
cutting-off wheel.
To use the machine properly you must also observe the safety regulations, the assembly
instructions and the operating instructions to be found in this manual.
All persons who use and service the machine have to be acquainted with this manual and
must be informed about its potential hazards.
It is also imperative to observe the accident prevention regulations in force in your area.
The same applies for the general rules of occupational health and safety.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for any changes made to the machine nor for any
damage resulting from such changes.
Even when the machine is used as prescribed it is still impossible to eliminate certain residual
risk factors. The following hazards may arise in connection with the machine’s construction
and design:
§ Contact with the saw blade in the uncovered saw zone.
§ Reaching into the running saw blade (cut injuries).
§ Kick-back of workpieces and parts of workpieces.
§ Saw blade fracturing.
§ Catapulting of faulty carbide tips from the saw blade.
§ Damage to hearing if essential ear-muffs are not worn.
§ Harmful emissions of wood dust when the machine is used in closed rooms.
6 GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS
Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow all warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for

future reference. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains operated (corded)
power tool or battery operated (cordless) power tool.
6.1 Work area
§ Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
§ Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or
fumes.
§ Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause
you to lose control.
6.2 Electrical safety
§ Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets
will reduce risk of electric shock.
§ Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or
grounded.
§ Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
§ Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power
tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled
cords increase the risk of electric shock.
§ When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use
of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
§ If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device
(RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
6.3 Personal safety
§ Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
§ Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask,
non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used whenever conditions require will
reduce personal injuries.
§ Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before plugging in.
Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the
switch on invites accidents.
§ Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key
left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
§ Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control
of the power tool in unexpected situations.
§ Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving
parts.
§ If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure
these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can reduce dust related
hazards.
6.4 Power tool use and care
§ Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct
power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

§ Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
§ Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the power tool accidentally.
§ Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with
the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in
the hands of untrained users.
§ Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or sticking of moving parts, breakage of parts
and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the
power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power
tools.
§ Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to stick and are easier to control.
§ Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with these instructions and
in the manner intended for the particular type of power tool, taking into account the working
conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from
intended could lead to a hazardous situation.
6.5 Service
§ Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
7 ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR LASERS
§ Warning! The laser beam potentially causes severe eye damage. Never look or stare
directly into the laser beam.
§ During use, do not point the laser beam at people, directly or indirectly through reflecting
surfaces.
§ This laser complies with class 2 according to EN 60825-1:2001. The unit includes no
servicing components. Do not open the housing for any reason. If the unit is damaged, have
the damage repaired by an authorized repair agent.
8 ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERIES
§ When replacing batteries, always replace the complete set. Do not mix old batteries with
new ones.
§ Prevent removed batteries from short circuiting.
§ Do not store batteries where the temperature may rise above 50 °C, e.g. in a car which has
been parked in the sun.
§ Do not burn batteries.
§ Never attempt to open batteries.
§ In case of battery leakage, carefully remove the liquid using a cloth. Avoid skin or eye
contact. Do not swallow. In case of skin or eye contact, rinse abundantly for 10 minutes with
clean water and consult a physician.
9 ASSEMBLY
9.1 Setting up the saw (Fig. 1 / 3/12)
§ Insert the two workpiece support clips (13) in the mounts (21) provided on the side of the
tool and fasten them in place with thumb screws (22).
§ Insert the clamping device (19) into one of the two mounts (20) provided on the top of stop
rail and fasten in place with the thumb screw (33).
§ Screw the additional stability bar (32) to the back of the machine.

9.2 Adjusting the saw (Fig. 1/2)
§ To adjust the rotary table (8), slacken the locking handle (10) by approx. 2 turns and press
the latch (11) in order to unlock the rotary table (8).
§ The rotary table (8) has latching positions at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 30° and 45°. Once the latch (11)
is engaged you must also tighten the locking handle (10) in order to fix the table in position.
§ If you need to work with any other angles, the rotary table is fixed in position with just the
locking handle (10).
§ While pressing down lightly on the machine head (4), pull the lock pin (16) out of the motor
holder to disengage the saw from its bottom working position.
§ Swing up the machine head until the retaining hook latches home.
§ By loosening the lock screw (12), the machine head (4) can be angled to the left up to 45°.
§ Check that the voltage marked on the rating plate is the same as your mains voltage and
connect up the machine.
9.3 90° cross-cuts and 0° rotary table (Fig. 1)
§ To turn the machine on, simultaneously press the main switch (3) and locking button (30).
§ Important! Place the material you want to saw flat on the machine surface and secure with
the clamping device (19) so that the material cannot move while you are cutting.
§ After switching on the saw, wait for the blade (5) to reach its maximum speed.
§ Press the release lever (1) sideways and, using the handle (2), apply steady and light
downward pressure to move the machine head through the workpiece.
§ When the cut is completed, return the machine to
§ its top parking position and let go of the On/Off
§ switch.
Caution! A return spring causes the machine head to rise automatically at the end of the cut.
Do not let go of the handle (2) as soon as the cut is completed but steady the machine head
and allow it to rise slowly.
9.4 Precision adjustment of the stop for 90° cross-cuts (Fig. 4/5)
§ Lower the machine head (4) and fix with the lock pin (16).
§ Slacken the tightening screw (12).
§ Place the stop angle (A) between the saw blade (5) and the rotary table (8).
§ Slacken the counter nut (23) and adjust the setting screw (24) until the angle between the
saw blade (5) and the rotary table (8) equals 90°.
§ Re-tighten the counter nut (23) to fix the machine in this setting.
9.5 90° cross-cuts and 0°-45° rotary table (Fig.6)
§ The POW8130 can be used to make angled cuts of 0°-45° relative to the stop rail on the left
and right side.
§ Release the rotary table (8) by slackening the locking handle (10) and pressing the latch
(11).
§ Turn the rotary table (8) by its handle (2) to the angle you want, i.e. the mark (a) on the
rotary table has to comply with the required angle dimension (17) on the base plate (9).
§ Re-tighten the locking handle (10) in order to fix the rotary table (8) in position.
§ Make the cut as described in Section B.).
9.6 Mitre cuts 0°-45° and rotary table 0° (Fig. 4/7)
§ The POW8130 can be used to make mitre cuts of 0°-45° relative to the machine bed on the
left side.
§ Lift the machine head (4) to its top position.
§ Fix the rotary table (8) in 0° position.
§ Undo the tightening screw (12) and use the handle (2) to tilt the machine head (4) to the left
until the pointer (a) coincides with the required angle value (15).
§ Re-tighten the locking nut (12) and make the cut as described in Section B.).

9.7 Precision adjustment of the stop for 45° mitre cuts (Fig. 8/9)
§ Lower the machine head (4) and fix with the lock pin (16).
§ Fix the rotary table (8) in 0° position.
§ Undo the tightening screw (12) and use the handle (2) to tilt the machine head (4) to the left
until it coincides at 45°.
§ Place the 45° stop angle (A) between the saw blade (5) and the rotary table (8).
§ Slacken the counter nut (25) and adjust the setting screw (26) until the angle between the
saw (5) and the rotary table (8) equals exactly 45°.
9.8 Mitre cuts 0-45 and rotary table 0-45" (Fig. 10)
§ The POW8130 can be used to make mitre cuts on the left at an angle of 0°-45° relative to
the work top and 0°-45° relative to the stop rail.
§ Lift the machine head (4) to its top position.
§ Undo the rotary table (8) by slackening the locking handle (10) and pressing the latch (11).
§ Adjust the rotary table (8) by its handle (2) to the required angle (see also Section D).
§ Retighten the tightening screw (10) in order to secure the turntable in place.
§ Undo the tightening screw (12) and use the handle (2) to tilt the machine head (4) to the left
until it coincides with the required angle value (in this connection see also section E).
§ Screw the tightening screw (12) back down again.
10 DUST BAG (FIG. 2)
The saw is equipped with a bag (14) to collect sawdust and chips. You can pull off the
sawdust bag (14) to the rear by pressing together the two clips (27). To empty the bag, undo
the zip at the bottom.
11 REPLACING THE SAW BLADE (FIG. 5/11)
§ Pull out the power plug.
§ Swing up the machine head (4).
§ Unscrew the two bolts (27, 28) and flip the cover plate up together with the saw blade guard
(6).
§ Press the saw shaft lock (17) with one hand while holding the wrench (32) on the flange bolt
(25) with the other.
§ Firmly press on the saw shaft lock (17) and slowly rotate the flange bolt (25) in clockwise
direction. The saw shaft lock engages after no more than one rotation.
§ Now, using a little more force, slacken the flange bolt (25) in clockwise direction.
§ Turn the flange bolt (25) until it is completely removed.
§ Take the blade (5) off the inner flange and pull out downwards.
§ Mount the new saw blade in reverse order and fasten.
§ Important! The cutting bevel of the teeth, i.e. the
§ direction of rotation of the saw blade, has to conform with the direction of the arrow marked
on the housing.
§ Clean the saw blade flanges thoroughly before mounting the saw blade.
§ Reattach the movable blade guard (6) in reverse order.
§ Before using the saw again, check that the safety devices are in good working order.
§ Important: Every time that you change the saw blade, check to see that it spins freely in the
groove of the turntable in both perpendicular and 45° angle settings.
12 ASSISTANT FENCE FUNCTION (FIG 14)
§ When angle of blade is 90°, please fit on part (A)
§ When angle of blade is 45°, please loose screw (a) to remove part (A)
13 LASER FUNCTION (FIG. 12)
You can switch the laser ON and OFF with the switch (a).
The laser (35) directs a beam onto the work-piece.

Extremely precise cuts can be made using the laser function.
14 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
14.1 Maintenance
Keep the machine's air vents unclogged and clean at all times.
Remove dust and dirt regularly from the machine. Cleaning is best done with compressed air
or a rag.
Re-lubricate all moving parts in regular intervals.
Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
14.2 Service department
§ Damaged switches must be replaced by our after-sales service department.
§ If the connecting cable (or mains plug) is damaged, it must be replaced by a particular
connecting cable which is available from our service department. Replacement of the
connecting cable must only be carried out by our service department (see last page) or by a
qualified person (qualified electrician).

§ Your purchase receipt must be kept as proof of date of purchase.
§ Your appliance must be returned un-dismantled to your dealer in an acceptably clean state,
(in its original blow moulded case if applicable to the unit), accompanied by your proof of
purchase.
18 ENVIRONMENT
Should your appliance need replacement after extended use, do not discard it
with the household rubbish but dispose of it in an environmentally safe way.
Waste produced by electrical machine items should not be handled like normal
household rubbish. Please recycle where recycle facilities exist. Check with your
Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.
