Cleaning of the internal surfaces should only be undertaken
after the machine is turned off and the machine has cooled
down completely. It should be noted that there will be very few
instances that require the hot plate assemblies to be removed
however, if needed, removing and reinstalling the hot plates
should be performed by an authorized Popcake service agent.
Removing the hot plate assembly
1 Before carrying out this procedure, ensure the machine is
turned off, the cooking plates have cooled down completely
and the machine has been unplugged from the power source.
2 Open the front door of the machine.
3 Remove the Teflon belts as per procedure shown above (Belt
changing procedure).
4 Unscrew the protruding lug nuts from the hot plate assembly
and store temporarily in a safe place. There are two lug nuts
located on each of the top and bottom hot plate assemblies.
5 Grasp the hot plate assembly at the front with both hands
(one on each end, as close to the supporting rods as
possible) and pull slowly towards you. The top and bottom
hot plate assemblies should slide out along the supporting
rods.
6 Once removed, be careful to gently rest the hot plate
assembly on a dry, clean, flat work-surface, taking care not to
damage the heater element pins protruding from the rear of
the hot plate assembly.
7 Cleaning of the hot plate and hot plate assembly should be
performed using a clean damp cloth only.
