1 Batteries
The shaver works on two AA/penlight/LR6 batteries.
Type Philips LR6 is especially recommended.
B Slide the cover in the direction of the arrow.
B Place the batteries so that the
+
symbols correspond
to the indications in the shaver.
B Close the cover.
About the batteries
• Store the shaver at temperatures between 5° and 35°C..
• Remove empty batteries from the shaver.
• Batteries contain substances which may be harmful to
the environment.
Please hand in your empty batteries at an officially
assigned collection point.
2 Shaving
• Ensure that the shaver never comes in contact with
water.
• You obtain the best shaving results on a dry skin.
Preferably shave before or some time after washing.
B Switch the shaver on by sliding the switch upwards.
B Move the shaving heads quickly over the skin. Make
both straight and circular movements.
B Stretch the skin with your free hand.
• This will bring the hairs upright and provide a closer
shave.
• Long hairs on the neck can also be shaved off in this
way.
Please bear in mind that your skin may need two to
four weeks to become fully accustomed to the
unique Philishave shaving system.
B Place the protective cap back on the shaver after use.
3 Cleaning
B Switch the shaver off.
Use the small brush, which can be found in the
protective cap.
It is possible to clean the shaving unit by means of a
degreasing liquid (alcohol for example). Lubricate the
shaving heads with a drop of sewing machine oil.
Shaving unit
• Every week.
B Clean the top of the shaving unit first.
Remove the shaving unit from the shaver and clean
the inside.
Shaving heads
• Every 2 months.
B Disassemble the shaving unit in order to clean the
shaving heads.
Remove the shaving heads holder.
Clean each shaving head (cutter and guard) separately.
This is essential since the cutter has been ground with the
guard.
If you should accidentally mix up the guards and cutters,
it may take several weeks before optimal shaving
performance is restored.
Clean each cutter carefully by brushing in the direction of
the arrow only, using the short bristled brush.
Brush the guard clean. You have to lubricate the central
point of the inside of the guard only if your skin is quite
dry, or if you have degreased the shaving unit.
Reassemble the shaving unit.
You have to lubricate the upper side of the shaving heads
only if your skin is quite dry or if you have degreased the
shaving unit.
Replacing the shaving heads
Use only Philishave shaving heads (type HQ 2) to replace
damaged or worn shaving heads.
