Switching off
- The kettle will switch off automatically once the
water boils (fig. 19). The pilot light will go out.
- You can switch the kettle off manually at any
time (fig. 20).
Some time after switching off, a click may be
heard. This is of no importance.
Switching on again ?
- You can switch the kettle on again after letting it
cool down for at least half a minute.
Descaling your kettle
Excessive limescale shortens the element life and
may result in the kettle not operating properly.
To ensure continued performance, descale your
kettle regularly.
The frequency depends on water conditions and
amount of use.
Descale using a proprietary descaling agent and
follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Alternatively, proceed as follows:
- Boil 400 ml of water in your kettle.
- After switch-off, add 200 ml of normal (8%)
vinegar to the water in the kettle.
- Leave the solution to stand in the kettle
overnight.
- Empty the solution out and rinse the inside of
the kettle thoroughly with clean water.
- Fill the kettle with clean water up to “MAX” and
bring to the boil.
- Empty the kettle and rinse again with clean
water.
If scale remains, repeat the procedure.
