Operation
Making a Call
1. Press on the handset.
2. When you hear a dial tone, dial the number .
Answering a Call
If the handset is in the base, lift the handset. The IN USE light on the base goes on.

Ringer On/Off - Battery Sav e Featur e
Set the handset RINGER switch to OFF to pr event the handset fr om ringing. Y ou can still use the handset
to mak e a call or to answer a call if y ou hear an extension phone ringing.
When the handset RINGER switch is set to ON, the handset sta ys ready to use f or up to 7 days.

The page featur e allows you to signal someone at the handset fr om the base. Y ou can also use this feature
to help you locate the handset. This feature is disabled when the handset RINGER s witch is set to OFF .

If you ha ve dial pulse (r otary) ser vice, this featur e allows you to enter codes or tones needed to operate ans wering
machines, or use electronic banking services, calling car ds, and other special services. This feature will operate
most special services; how ever , some services may actuall y require a touch tone line. T o be sure, ask the company
that provides the special service.

Installation
1 Chose a spot near an electric outlet and a telephone jack outlet.
2 Install the handset antenna
Slide the metal tip of the handset antenna straight down into the opening in the top of the handset. T urn
the antenna clockwise to make sur e the tip is set in place, and continue until it is sung against the top of
the handset. Do not over tighten.
3 Install the handset battery
• Remov e the batter y compartment cover on the handset by pr essing on the identation and sliding the
cover do wnward
• Plug the battery pack cord into the handset, and tuck the cords in next to the battery
• Replace the cover b y sliding it on its track
4 Set T one or Pusle dialing
• Press Memory button
• Press Recall button
• Press for T one, or for Pulse
• Fr ench version do not ha ve this function
5 Connect the telephone line cor d
• Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the top of the base
• Plug the other end into a modular telephone jack
6 Mount the base on the wall (wall installation onl y)
• Mark and drill two holes in a wall stud, 3 5/16" apar t
• Use two wall scr ews, lea ving about 1/4" free of the wall
• Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the jack on the top side of the base
• Plug the other end into a modular telephone jack
• Mount the base unit on the wall by aligning the tw o holes on the back with scre ws
• Slide the base unit down in place
7 Plug the po w er cord
• Plug the one end of the pow er cord into the jack on the top side of the base
• Plug the AC ada pter on the power cor d into an electric outlet
8 Charg e the handset battery pack for at least 12 hours
Place the handset in the base, the CHARGE light on the base goes on to show the handset is in the right
position to charge the battery pack.
9 Check f or dial tone
After the battery pack is charged, pick up the handset and extend the base antenna. Check for dial tone
by pressing the
, the IN USE light on the base should go on, and you should hear a dial tone.
10 Set TBR time
The flash time is pre-set f or end users, users do not switch it under normal usage.
The TBR times switch is located on the top side of the base. Three flash time, A-100ms, B-270ms and C-
620ms are a vailable for diff erent telephone network system. Select suitable flash time if necessar y .

Operating Range
The handset and base can communicate ov er only a certain distance - which can var y with the locations
of the base and handset, the weather , and the construction of your home or office. For best performance,
mak e sure the base antenna is fully upright.
If the handset is mov ed to a point where the base and handset can longer communicate, you ar e “out of
range”. When you tr y to make a call, the handset will beep to indicate that you are out of range.
If you r eceive a call while y ou are out of range, the handset might not ring - or if it does ring, the call might
not connect when you pr ess
. Move closer to the base, then press to answer the call.
If you mov e out of range during a phone conv ersation, you ma y be disconnected.
Changing Channels
This cordless telephone has multi channels a vailable for maxim um performance.
If you notice noise or interf erence while using the handset:

Memory
This cordless phone can stor e 9 telephone numbers that you can dial b y pressing and one of the
number buttons. Additionally , y ou can store a memory number in the
memory location.
Storing Memory Numbers

Charging the Handset Battery Pack
The batteries need charging when:
• The IN USE light on the base flashes.
• The handset beeps while you ar e on a call.
Place the handset in the base so the CHARGING light goes on. The batteries will be fully charged in about
12 hours. Y ou should charge the handset batter y pack at least once ev er y 90 da ys.
Replacing the Handset Battery Pack
1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the handset by pr essing on the indentation and sliding the
cover do wnward.
2. Plug the battery pack cord into the handset, and tuck the cords in next to the battery .
3. Replace the cov er by sliding it on its track.
In Case of Difficulty
If the phone doesn’ t work at all, check these items first:
• Make sur e the AC ada pter is plugged in.
• Make sur e the telephone line cord is plugged firmly into the base until and the telephone jack.
• Make sur e the base antenna is fully upright.
• Make sur e the battery pack is installed correctly .
• If you ha ve r otary ser vice on your phone line, make sure the dial mode s witch is set to PULSE.
• Y ou may be out of range when attempting to dial. Move closer to the base and try the call again.
• If the above suggestions don’ t solv e the problem, the handset and base may not be communicating
properl y . T ry the suggestions below to reset the security code.
T o r eset the security code:
• Place the handset in the base, and check to make sure the CHARGING light is on. W ait 15 seconds,
then pick up the handset and press
. The phone should operate properl y . If it doesn’t, tr y the next
step.
• Place the handset in the base , and check to make sur e the CHARGING light is on. Unplug the AC
adapter fr om the outlet, wait 15 seconds, then plug it in again. The CHARGING light should go on. W ait
another 15 seconds, then pick up the handset and press
. The phone should operate properl y . if it
doesn’ t tr y the next step .
• Pick up the handset, open the batter y compartment, and unplug the batter y pack. W ait 15 seconds,
then reinstall the battery pack, close the batter y compartment, place the handset in the base, and check
to make sur e the CHARGING light is on. W ait another 15 seconds, then pick up the handset and press
. The phone should operate pr operly .
If you ha v e no dial tone:
Check all the pre vious suggestions. If you still don’ t hear a dial tone, disconnect the phone and tr y
another phone in the same jack. If there is no dial tone on that phone either , the problem is pr obably in
your wiring or local service. Call y our local telephone company .
If you hear noise or interf erence when using the phone:
• Make sur e the base antenna is fully upright.
• Y ou may be out of range. Move closer to the base.
• Press and r elease
to change to another of the multi channels a vailable. If the noise is exceptionally
loud, move closer to the base befor e changing channels.
• Household appliances plugged into the same cir cuit as the base can sometimes cause interference. T r y
moving the appliance or the base to another outlet.
• The lay out of your home or office might the limiting the operating range. T r y moving the base to
another location, preferably on an upper floor .
If the phone does not ring when y ou receive a call:
• Make sur e the handset RINGER switch is set to ON.
• Mak e sure the telephone line cord is connected firml y to the base and the modular telephone pack.
Make sur e the AC ada pter is plugged into an outlet not contr olled by a wall switch.
• Y ou might be too far from the base. Move closer to the base.
• Y ou might ha ve too many extension phones on y our telephone line to allow all of them to ring. T ry
unplugging some of the other phones.
• Press to change to antoher channel.
If you hear other calls while using y our phone:
• Press
to charge to another channel.
• Disconnect the base from the modular telephone jack and plug in a cor ded telephone. If you still hear
other calls, the problem is pr obably in your wiring or local service. Call y our local telephone service
company .
If you hear noise in the handset and the buttons don’ t w ork:
Y ou base unit and handset might not be set to the same security code. Place the handset in the base for
at least 15 seconds to reset the security code.
