FAULTS
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Ventilation protection
The electronics in the appliance must be
cooled. The cool air is drawn in at the front
and blown out at the rear. The appliance can
therefore only function when sufficient air can
circulate. If insufficient air is able to circulate,
the appliance will switch off after a short time.
Overheating protection
The appliance may become overheated if:
– the pan does not conduct the heat
adequately;
– fat or oil is heated at a high setting;
– there is insufficient circulation of air (see
also ventilation protection).
In the event of overheating the result will be
that the cooking zone in question or all the
cooking zones will display one of the following
reactions:
– the booster function is switched off (if
already switched on);
– if setting 9 has been selected, a 9 and an 8
will flash in the display(s) in succession.
The power level is lowered to setting 8;
– The cooking zone(s) in question is/are
automatically switched off. First a 0 and
then the residual heat indication will
appear in the display in question.
As soon as the cooking zone(s) has/have
cooled down sufficiently, they can be
operated normally once again.
Prevent the overheating protection becoming
activated by:
– using pans that are good conductors of
heat;
– heating up fat or oil at a lower setting;
– making sure there is sufficient ventilation.
If, despite the above-mentioned measures
having been taken, the overheating
protection becomes activated again,
contact the service department or a
professionally qualified specialist.
