Playing disc
1 Press [x OPEN/CLOSE] on the main uni t to open
the disc tray .
Put in a disc with the label faci ng up.
Press [x OPEN/CLOSE] again to close th e disc tray .
2 Press [CD] and then press [4/ 9 ] to start playback.
Viewing available inform ation
Y ou can view the available informat ion on the displ ay panel.
Press [D ISPLA Y ].

• Maximum characters that can be shown:
approximately 16
• This system supports ver. 1.0 and 1.1 ID3 tags.

Play menu
1 Press [PLA Y MENU] to sel ect “PLA YMODE” or
“REPEA T”.
2 Press [Y, U ] and then press [OK] to select the
desired mode.
Note:
The setting returns to t he default “OFF PLA YMODE” when
you open the disc tray .
Progr am playback
This function allows you to progra m up to 24 tracks.
1 Press [PROGRAM] in the stop mode.
“PGM” is shown.

Press the numeric buttons to select the desired
track.
Do this step again to program other tracks.
1. Press [R, T ] to select the desired album.
2. Press [6 ] and then press the numeric buttons
to select the desired track.
3. Press [ OK].
Do these steps again to pro gram other tracks.
3 Press [4/ 9 ] to start playback.
Note:
• Y ou cannot use progr am playback together with
“PLA YMODE” function.
• The program memory is cleared whe n you open the disc
tray .

Clock and timers
Setting the cloc k
This is a 24-hour clock.
1 Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to select “CLOCK”.
2 Within 10 seconds, press [R, T ] to set the time.
3 Press [OK].
Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to show the clock for a few seconds.
Note:
Reset the clock regularly to maint ain accuracy .
Sleep timer
The sleep timer switches off the system after th e set time.
Press [SLEEP] to selec t the setting (in minutes).
T o cancel, select “OFF”.
To show the remaining time
Press [SLEEP].
Note:
• The sleep timer can be used together with the play timer .
• The sleep timer always comes fi rst. Be sure not t o set an
overlap of timers.
Play timer
Y ou can set t he timer to come on at a certain time to wake
you up.
Preparation
Set the clock.
1 Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to select “#PLA Y”.
2 Within 10 seconds, press [R, T ] to set the st art
time.
3 Press [OK].
4 Do steps 2 and 3 again to set the end time.
T o start the timer
1 Prepare the audio source you want to listen to
(disc, radio, USB or AUX) and set the volume.
2 Press [PLA Y #].
“# ” is shown.
T o cancel, press [PLA Y # ] again.
The system must be switched off fo r the timer to
operate.
T o check the settings
Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to select “#PLA Y”.
Note:
• The timer star ts at a low volume and increases gradually
to the preset level.
• The timer comes on at t he set time every day if t he timer
is on.
• If you switch off the syst em and switch on again while a
timer is in operation, the timer will not stop at the end
time.
Exter nal equipment
Y ou can connect a VCR, DVD player etc. and liste n to the
audio through this system.
Prepar ation
• Disconnect the AC mains lead.
• Switch of f all equipment and read the appropriate
operating instru ctions.
1 Connect the external equipment.
2 Press [RADIO, EXT -IN] (main unit:
[RADIO/EXT -IN]) to select “AUX”.
3 Play the external equipment.
Note:
• Components and ca bles are sold separatel y .
• If you want to connect equipment other than those
described, refer t o the audio dealer .

T r oubleshooting
Before reque sting service, make t he following checks. If
you are in doubt about some of th e check point s, or if the
solutions indicated do not solve the problem, consult your
dealer for instructions.
Common problems
The display panel lights up and changes continuously
in standby mode.
• Press and hold [8 ] on the main unit t o select
“DEMO OFF”.
No operations can be done with the remote control.
• Examine that the battery is installed correctly .
Sound is distorted or no sound.
• Adjust the volume of the syst em.
• Switch off the system, determine and correct the cause,
then switch the system on again. It can be caused by
straining of the speakers thr ough excessive volume or
power , and when using the system in a hot environment.
A humming sound can be heard during playback.
• An AC mains lead or fluorescent light is near the cables.
Keep other appliance s and cords away from the cables of
this system.
Disc
Display not shown correctly .
Playback does not st art.
• Y ou have not put in the disc correctly . Put it in correctly .
• Disc is dirty . Clean the disc.
• Replace the disc if it is scratched, warped, or
non-standard.
• There is condensation. Let the system dry for 1 to 2
hours.
The total numb er of tra cks disp layed is incorrec t.
The disc cannot be read.
Distorted sound is heard.
• Y ou put in a disc that the syste m cannot play . Change to
a playable disc.
• Y ou put in a disc that has not been finalised.
Radio
Sound is distorted.
• Use an optional FM outdoor antenna. The antenna
should be installed by a competent technician .
A beat sound is heard.
• Switch off t he TV or move it away from the system.
A low hum is heard during AM broadcasts.
• Move the antenna away from other cable s and cords.
USB
The USB device or the contents in it cannot be read.
• The format of the USB device or the cont ents in it is/are
not compatible with the system.
• USB devices with st orage capacity of mor e than 32 GB
cannot work in some conditions.
Slow operation of the USB device.
• Large content size or large memory USB device t akes
longer time to read.
Main unit displays
“ERROR”
• An incorrect o peration was don e. Read the inst ructions
and try again.
“F61”
• Examine and correct the speaker co rds connection.
• Disconnect the USB device. Switch of f the system and
then switch it on again.
“NODEVICE”
• The USB devi ce is not con nected. Examine the
connection.
“NO PLA Y”
“UNSUPPORT”
• Examine the content. Y ou ca n only play supported
format.
• The files in th e USB device can be corrup ted. Format the
USB device and try again.
“NOT MP3 = ERROR”
• Y ou played an unsupported MP3 file. The system will skip
that track and play the next one.
“PLA YERROR”
• Y ou played an unsupporte d MP3 file. The system will skip
that track and p lay the next one.
“REMOTE 1” or “REMOTE 2 ”
• The remote contr ol and the main unit are using dif ferent
codes. Change the code of the remote control.
– When “REMOTE 1” is shown, press and hold [OK] and
[1] for a minimum of 4 se conds.
– When “REMOTE 2” is shown, press and hold [OK] and
[2] for a minimum of 4 se conds.
“VBR–”
• The system cannot show t he remaining play time for
variable bit rate (VBR) tracks.
Remote control code
When other Panasonic equipment responds to the remote
control of this system, change the remote control code for
this system.
Prepar ation
Press [RADIO, EX T -IN] (main unit: [RADIO/ EXT -IN]) to
select “AUX”.
T o set the code to “REMOTE 2”
1 Press and hold [RADIO/EXT -IN] on the main unit
and [2] on the remote control until “REMOTE 2” is
shown .
2 Press and hold [OK] and [2] for a minimum of
4 seconds.
T o set the code to “REMOTE 1”
1 Press and hold [RADIO/EXT -IN] on the main unit
and [1] on the remote control until “REMOTE 1” is
shown .
2 Press and hold [OK] and [1] for a minimum of
4 seconds.
Memor y r eset (initialisation)
Reset the memory when the following situa tions occur:
• There is no respo nse when buttons ar e pressed.
• Y ou want to clear and reset the memory content s.
1 Disconnect the AC mains lead.
2 While you press and hold [1 ] on the main unit,
connect the AC mains lead again.
Continue to press and hold the button (approximat ely
10 seconds) until “– – – – – – – –” is shown.
3 Release [1].
All the settings are set back to the factory preset.
It is necessary to set th e memory items again.
Maintenance
T o clean this system, wipe with a sof t, dry cloth.
• Never use alcohol, paint th inner or benzine to clean this
system.
• Before using chemically tre ated cloth, rea d the
instructions that came with the cloth carefully .

Improving the sound quality
When “FM” is selected
1 Press [RADIO MENU] to select “FM MODE”.

[OK].
T o cancel, select “STEREO”.
“MONO” is also cancelled when you change the
frequency .
Memor y pr esetting
30 FM and 15 AM stations can be pre set.
Automatic presetting
1 Press [OK] to select “LOWEST” or “CURRENT”
frequency .
2 Press [AUT O PRESET] to st art presetting.
T o cancel, press [8].
Manual presetting
1 Press [3 ] or [5 ] to tune in to the station.
2 Press [PROGRAM].
3 Press the numeric buttons to selec t a preset
number .
Do steps 1 through 3 again to preset more stations.
The new station replaces any station tha t occupies the
same preset number .
Selecting a preset station
Press the numeric buttons, [2 ] or [6 ] to select the
preset st ation.
Using the main unit
1 Press [TUNE MODE] to select “P RESET”.
2 Press [2/ 3 ] or [5/ 6 ] to select the preset
station.
AM allocation setting
By main unit only
This system can also receive AM broadcasts allocated in
10 kHz steps.
1 Press [RADIO/EXT -IN] to select “FM” or “AM”.
2 Press and hold [RADIO/EXT -IN].
After a few seconds, the display pan el shows the current
minimum radio frequency . Release the butt on when the
minimum frequency changes.
• T o go back to the initial setting, do the above steps again.
• After yo u change the setting, pre set frequencies are
erased .
RDS broadcasting
This system can show t he text dat a transmitted by the radio
data system (RDS) available in some areas.
Press [DISPLA Y].
