17. Caution! There is danger of explosion from improper replacement of
the batteries. Replace batteries only with the same or equivalent type
of battery.
18. Always change the entire battery pack. Do not mix old and new bat-
teries, or batteries with dierent charge state.
19. Make sure the batteries are correctly inserted. Observe the polarity (+) plus
/ (-) negative on the battery and the housing. Improperly inserted batteries

batteries could leak and cause damage.
21. Non-rechargeable batteries must not be recharged.
22. The connections of batteries must not be short-circuited.
23. Remove the batteries from the product before disposal.
24. Never expose batteries to excessive heat (e.g. bright sun, re), and
never throw them into re. The batteries could explode.
25. Keep batteries out of reach of small children. If batteries have been
swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.
26. If the batteries leak, remove them with a cloth and dispose of them
accordingly. Prevent battery uid from coming into contact with
skin and eyes. If you do get battery uid in your eyes, ush them
thoroughly with lots of water and consult a physician immediately. If
battery uid comes into contact with your skin, wash the aected area
with lots of water and soap.
27. When installing the device, leave sucient space for ventilation. Do
not install in bookcases, built-in cabinets or the like.
28. Do not impede ventilation by covering the ventilation openings with
items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc. Do not insert

29. If you would like to connect an external device with this product, a
good quality shielded cable must be used, which ensures the electro-

BEFORE FIRST TIME USE
Remove the product and accessories carefully from the original packaging.
Inspect the delivery contents for completeness and damages. Should the
delivery contents be incomplete or damaged, contact your sales outlet
immediately.
POWER SUPPLY
Battery operation
Open the battery compartment. Insert 2x 1.5V battery (type AA). Make
sure the polarity is correct as indicated. Close the battery compartment.
Note: When the batteries are almost empty, “LO” appears on the display.
Changing batteries are required.
Adjust antenna
FM: For optimal reception, extend the antenna fully and adjust it.
AM: Adjust the radio position for optimal reception.
SW: Extend the telescopic antenna vertically.
Headphone jack
Connect the headphone to the headphone jack.
Note: Once ear phones are connected, the speaker will be switched o.
GENERAL SETTINGS
Time setting
The time can be set only if the radio is in o mode (Standby). The time will
be displayed in 24 hrs format.
1. Press and hold the AL/SET button and the time will be ashing on
the display.
2. Set the hours with TUNE- button and the minutes with TUNE+ button.
3. Conrm the setting with AL/SET button.
Alarm on/o setting
The alarm can be set only if the FM radio is in o mode (Standby):
1. Press the AL/SET button shortly and the alarm time will be shown
ashing on the display.
Note: If no settings done within 10 seconds the display will turn o
into standby.
2. Set the hours with TUNE- button and the minutes with TUNE+ button.
3. Conrm the setting with AL/SET button.
4. Press TUNE+/- to set an alarm mode:
– Buzzer (buz)
– Radio (tune)
5. Conrm with AL/SET button. The alarm clock symbol will be shown
on the display.
6. To disable the alarm, switch on the radio and press AL/SET button.
Turn o the radio.
Stop alarm
Snooze function: Press TUNE- button to suspend alarm sound for a few
minutes. The alarm will start again after approx. 9 minutes.
OPERATION
Turning on/o
Turn the knob OFF/ON to VOLUME+/- to turn on/o the radio.
Volume control
During playback the volume can be adjusted by turning the VOLUME knob.
Display backlight setting
Press the LIGHT button to turn on/o the backlight.
RADIO
Frequency band
To select a frequency band, press the FM/AM/SW button shortly.
Tuning
1. Press and hold the TUNE+/- button for 1 sec. to start the automatic
scanning. The radio will stop search, once an active station is found.
2. For ne tuning press the TUNE+/- button shortly to change the
frequency in smallest possible steps.
Short Wave (SW)
Within the SW frequency, the sub-sequences SW1 to SW6 can be chosen
directly.
CLEANING AND CARE
•Warning! Never immerse electrical parts of the product in water during
cleaning or operation. Never hold the product under running water.
•Warning! When cleaning, never use solvents or abrasive materials, hard
brushes, metallic or sharp objects. Solvents are harmful to human health
and can attack plastic parts, while abrasive cleaning mechanisms and
tools may scratch the surface(s).
•Disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning it. Clean
the product with a soft, damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent. Finish
by wiping it with a dry cloth. Do not use alcohol, acetone, benzene,
scouring cleansers etc. to clean the product. Do not use hard brushes or
metal objects.
