Nikon’s exclusive Scene Recognition System
and an incredibly accurate 2016-pixel RGB
sensor, the camera analyzes the color and
brightness information in each scene at a high
level of precision. It automatically determines
the most appropriate values for auto exposure,
i-TTL flash control, autofocus and auto white balance (AWB). The
result: pictures that more closely resemble the scene in front of you,
just as you see it.
Be ready for any opportunity:
approx. 5 fps continuous shooting
Get the right composition at the right moment. The D5200 delivers
a versatile continuous frame rate for use both with the
optical viewfinder and live view mode. With
cameras that use an electronic viewfinder you
can lose sight of quickly moving subjects.
However, when shooting dynamic action
through an optical viewfinder, you can clearly
identify and capture fast-moving subjects at up
to approx. 5 fps, even when panning the camera.
An approx. 3 fps option is also available, which
can be a more appropriate speed in certain situations, such as

developed high-speed and highly precise sequential control
mechanism. When you shoot with live view, the mirror is held in the
up position during image capture, thereby giving you continuous

Amazing detail in both highlights and shadows: HDR (High Dynamic Range) and Active D-Lighting
The D5200 can capture scenes with a wide dynamic range, but
when the contrast between a scene’s brightest and darkest areas
is extremely high, the camera provides two solutions: HDR and
Active D-Lighting. With adjustable intensity levels, both give you
beautiful pictures that capture an extended range of light and
shadow. HDR is recommended for stationary subjects such as
landscapes*, while Active D-Lighting is beneficial when shooting
scenes with moving subjects. Both use the power of the EXPEED 3
image-processing engine to realize better and more faithful color
integrity.
*The camera takes two shots within a single shutter release when in HDR mode. For optimum image sharpness, a
tripod is recommended.

When shooting through the optical viewfinder, select a mode to
instantly optimize camera settings from a wide range of shooting
situations. Frequently used modes are located on the mode dial,
while others can be selected by setting the dial to SCENE and
rotating the command dial. When using live view, the Scene Auto
Selector feature chooses the most suitable scene mode for your

combination of state-of-the-art image processing and an incredible
image sensor minimizes noise, jaggies and moiré. Even when
recording fast-moving, attention-grabbing action such as a galloping
horse, a splash of water or the view from a moving car, the camera
offers frame rate options up to 1080 60i/50i to give you smooth and
natural video free of choppy motion. The vari-angle LCD monitor
allows the camera to be held securely and steadily during handheld
shots. When the camera is in mode M, exposure can be controlled
manually, by changing shutter speed and ISO even when shooting

Wireless remote camera control has never been
easier. Instead of using conventional infrared
transmission, the new WR-R10 and WR-T10
communicate via radio for increased range.

  • Mijn camera gebruik ik altijd in de manuele stand. De lichtmeter lijkt helaas opeens niet meer te functioneren. Deze geeft voortdurend aan dat er sprake is van onderbelichting, terwijl dit niet het geval is. Met het gebruik van het uitklapscherm lukt het wel om de belichting te controleren, maar voor mij is het gebruik van de lichtmeter noodzakelijk. Als ik voor het fotograferen van bijv. landschappen overschakel op de automatische of landschapfunctie, worden foto's gewoon goed belicht. Iemand enig idee wat er aan de hand zou kunnen zijn?       rechts op de bovenkant zit een knopje met het selftimer-symbooltje. druk die in en een ' ontspanstand' menu verschijnt, daar kun je de camera op zelfontspanner 5 seconden zetten.

  • Ik heb een Nikon D5200 met 2 objectieven. Sinds gister werkt 1 objectief niet goed meer. Het is een objectief 18-55. Als hij op 18 staat kan ik foto's maken als ik het objectief verder draai kan ik tot ongeveer 24 foto's maken daarna het stukje van 24 tot 55 kan ik geen foto's maken er gebeurt helemaal niets.       Een “quickstart” was er niet bij ingesloten.

    • De achterste objectiefdop wordt los- en vastgedraaid met een linkse draad. Voor het losdraaien van de dop moet je dus met de draairichting van de klok mee gaan.
      Waarom ze hiervoor gekozen hebben en niet voor de meer normale rechtse draad is mij onbekend.

    • JA. De mogelijkheid is er om zelfs in één opname gelijktijdig1 in RAW (NEF) en 1 in JPEG te maken. Vergt wel veel geheugen.

    • Als je de camera met de lcd scherm als vooraanzicht vasthoudt, dan zie je rechtsachter bij het lipje van de zoeker een draaischijfje, deze is instelbaar. (zodat mensen die een bepaalde oogafwijking hebben ook zonder bril kunnen fotografen ;)
      Maak je camera aan, zet je autofocus aan, laat je camera scherpstellen op een object. (zodra je een piepje hoort, is hij scherp gesteld). Nadat je het piepje hebt gehoord, draai je aan het bovengenoemde draaischijfje en dan moet je hem weer kunnen corrigeren naar de 'normale waarde'. Geantwoord op 18-1-2015 om 07:24

    • Bij het afnemen van het objectief vanaf de body moet knopje 21 (pagina 1 Gebruikershandleiding “knop objectief ontspannen”) ingedrukt worden op de blokkering op te heffen.
      Bij het plaatsen van het juiste Nikon objectief moet dat knopje NIET ingedrukt worden. Plaats en draai het objectief behoedzaam tot het aanklikt.
      Bij het onjuist gebruik van het “vergrendelknopje” (21) bestaat de mogelijkheid, dat het objectief te ver doorgedraaid kan worden. Daardoor kan de connectie in de objectiefvatting (23) verslechterd worden of verloren gaan.

  • Ik heb sinds 4 weken een Nikon d5200. Nu werkt mijn autofocus niet meer. Ik zit op een foto cursus en heb met de docent gewisseld van lens, welke het ook niet doet. Als hij mijn lens op zijn body zet doet mijn lens het ook. Dus bij ligt het aan de body. Wat kan het zijn, kan ik een verkeerde instelling hebben gebruikt of is er in de body iets wat niet werkt?     • Als de lens op een andere body werkt dan ligt het aan jouw body en dan zou ik direct terug gaan naar winkel.
      Omgekeerd dan werkt de lens niet en is de motor stuk dan ook direct terug naar de winkel gaan.

  • Probeer een simultaan de knop <Menu + Informatie> in te drukken, houd dit een 5-tal seconden ingedrukt en uw D5200 is nu gebracht op fabrieksinstelling.
    Aan uw lens is er A-M zetting en een On-Off switch. Probeer de A-M eens op A. Dan werkt uw lens automatisch.
    Is dit alles niet ok? Dan belt u maar naar 00319001225564 en daar helpen ze u vast en zeker. Dit getuig ik u en mijn problemen waren opgelost. Geantwoord op 2-5-2014 om 18:55

  • Druk de knoppen < Menu en Info > simultaan 5seconden in. En dan is het toestel terug als nieuw. Alles is dan softwarematig terug gezet zoals bij de productie zelf.

    • Betreffende de Nikon ML-L3 infrarood afstandsbediening ondermeer voor de Nikon D5200.

      De instelling is te vinden onder knopje 4 (ondermeer met het symbooltje : “afstandontspanner”) op de bovenzijde (rechts) van de camerabody (Gebruikshandleiding D5200, pagina 1, kennismaken met de camera). Toets dat knopje 4 in en de lijst met opties kom op de monitor. Kies met de multiselector op het onderste keuze balkje voor de optie: 2S Vertraagd op afstand ML-L3 of Direct op afstand ML-L3. Daarna bevestigen met OK.

      Ook in het menu is deze instelling te vinden.

      Menu : -> kies voor: Opnamemenu -> Scrol met multiselector naar beneden en ga verder met het 2e gedeelte van het opnamemenu-> kies voor: Ontspanstand -> toets OK -> maak keuze met Multiselector bv : Direct op afstand (ML-L3) -> toets OK

      De infraroodontvangers zelf zijn te vinden op de voorzijde (links midden) = 10 en op de achterzijde (rechts boven) = 4 van de camerabody (Pag. 1 en 2 en ook 26 en 27 van de handleiding)

    • (Maak hierbij uiteraard gebruik van de Multiselector)

      1e mogelijkheid :
      Toets menu knopje in > Het menu komt voor > kies voor de menuoptie: Opnamemenu (= het symbooltje met de camera) > ga verder naar beeldkwaliteit > OK > maak een keuze bv NEF (RAW) + JPG fijn > OK.
      Na importeren op de computer krijg je 2 afbeeldingen; 1 in NEF (=RAW) en 1 in Jpeg. Dat in makkelijk maar het vergt nogal veel geheugen. Enkel NEF (RAW) kan uiteraard ook.

      2e mogelijkheid :
      Toets =i= knop (=informatie bewerken) in > keuze scherm komt voor > toets voor de 2e maal op de =i= > de keuze mogelijkheid wordt geel opgelicht > maak gebruik van bovenste keuze balk en de uiterst linkse optie “Beelkwaliteit” > OK > maak verder de keuze van RAW > bevestigen met OK

    • Mogelijk (?!?) maak je gebruik van een onjuist geheugenkaartje. Het moet een SDHC kaartje zijn met een schrijfsnelheid van ten minste 6 (zelf gebruik ik 10).   • Geachte medewerkers,
    Kan ik fotograferen met opgeklapte spiegel om op deze manier zoveel mogelijk trillingen te vermijden en welke macrolens raad u mij aan of kan ik ruim voldoende resultaat halen als ik voor mijn kitlens (Nikkor) 3 macro voorzet lensjes koop.
    Ik ben nog een beginneling en moet nog een heleboel leren.
    Verder zou ik graag een dagcursus willen volgen om mijn camera beter te leren kennen en waar ik ook vragen kan stellen. Is er zo'n cursus in de buurt van Gouda want toen ik deze camera kocht bij Kamera Expres zat deze service niet aan deze camera gekoppeld.

  • In je menu bij d5, dat is de belichtingsvertragingsstand. Die zorgt ervoor dat de spiegel wordt opgeklapt en dan even wacht! Die moet je dus uit zetten! Geantwoord op 25-11-2017 om 21:43

    • Mogelijk heb je zelf al het probleem na enkele maanden opgelost.
      De D5200 heeft een sensorformaat van 24 x 16 mm (3 : 2). Het TV-formaat 16 -9 heeft niet de verhouding van 3 : 2.
      “Bijsnijden” met bv Picasa is een optie
