2. GETTING STARTED
2.1. Connecting the device
A. INDOOR IP CAMERA
• Take the mr Safe outdoor IP camera out of the box. Attach the wifi antenna (8).
• Connect the power charger (10).
• Plug the network cable (9) into the cable jack and connect the other end of the cable into your router. The
network light will turn on.
NOTE: If there is no light, please unplug the power cable and the network cable. Check if your router is OK and re-
plug both cables
B. OUTDOOR IP CAMERA
The mr Safe Outdoor IP camera has many connections. When the mr Safe camera can be installed within the range
of your Internet modem, you only need to provide a power supply. We recommend to first configure the camera
close to your computer, and do a test close to the location where it was installed. If the wifi will continue stable
for one day, the wifi range seems to be sufficient.

Example of an installation:
• Take the mr Safe outdoor IP camera out of the box. Attach the WiFi antenna (9) and the bracket (10).
• We use a cable box which is available for a few euros at the hardware store.
• The grommets or glands are placed around the cables. You may need to cut the grommet around the camera
cable. If so, it needs to be sealed again later. There are 2 connections open at the bottom of the cable box.
• The cables are introduced into the box, and positioned so there isn’t any tension on the connection or the
cable. If you need to cut the box to enter the camera cable, this must be subsequently sealed.
• The power cable of the adapter will be temporarily removed from the terminal box.
• The camera can be fixed to the desired location.

• A hole of about 10 mm will be drilled through the wall. The round plug of the power cable will be taken from
the inside to the outside. The cable box is placed close to the power cable. The round plug will be attached to
the camera cable inside the cable box.
• The hole in the wall, the grommets or cable glands and possible cuts in the cable box should be sealed so that
everything is water resistant.
• If you want, you can fix the cable as well. The adapter will now be plugged into a wall socket and the installation
will work.

3. TERMINOLOGY
LAN: Local Area Network: Your home network, which includes your internet modem and all the equipment in the
house that is connected to the network via cable or Wifi.
WAN: Wide Area Network: The internet, if you have an Internet connection at home or anywhere else.
Resolution: The quality and sharpness of the images. The resolution is expressed in pixels horizontal x vertical. The
higher the resolution the better the image quality of the IP camera.
Stream (Bitrate): The number of bits (transmission of information) that can be sent or received per unit of time via a
network connection. A bit is the smallest amount of information. The higher the bitrate, the more information per unit
of time will be send or received.
Framerate: The number of frames per second being imaged.
4. WIFI SETTINGS
• Go to the App Store, search for ”mrSafe” in the “only for iPhone” category and download the App or go to
iTunes and search for “mrSafe” and download the App.
• Install the App on your Apple device.
• Start the App after installation.
• Connect your Apple device via Wifi to the same network as the camera.

In the App, go to “LAN” (bottom). You will now see the camera. Click on the symbol next to the camera and
select "Wifi".
Click on “SSID” to display the available networks. Select your network and enter your password. After confirmation,
the IP camera will restart (this will take about 2 minutes),
After you have set the wifi (as described below), you should first check if the camera is functioning properly when it is
placed close to the modem. If that is the case, you must place the camera at the desired location and take a few days
to check if on that location the wifi connection remains stable, and if the wifi signal is always strong enough. If that is
the case, you can mount the camera permanently. If the connection is not stable, then you should look for a location
closer to the modem, connect to a network or install a wifi repeater between the camera and the Internet modem.

5. LAN CAMERA
All the cameras that are online in your local network (LAN) will be displayed in the LAN list.
5.1. LAN Camera browsing
Go to the LAN list and click on the camera you want to see. The program is now going to make contact with your IP
camera. This can take a few seconds.
When the image appears, the camera is ready to operate. If the image is not completely clear /sharp, you can turn the
lens focusing ring till the image appears sharp.

If you want to control the camera you can press the buttons of the control panel. (For more information go to chapter
“7.1 Control Panel”).
5.2. LAN Camera settings
You can change the settings of each camera by clicking on the symbol next to the camera.
5.2.1. Instellingsopties
5.2.1.1. Wifi
Only use these settings for setup of the Wifi connection! See chapter “4. WIFI SETTINGS”.

5.2.1.2. Video Settings
In the menu Video Settings you can adjust the following settings:
Substream/Mainstream: mr Safe IP cameras only use main stream. Do not change this setting!
Resolution: you can change the resolution of the images according to your own needs. For more information
about resolution see “3. Terminology”.
Framerate: you can change the amount of frames according to your own needs. For more information about
frame rate see “3. Terminology”.
Bitrate: For more information about bitrate see “3. Terminology”.
Press "Done" to save the settings.
5.2.1.3. SD Card Settings (ONLY FOR HD IP CAMERAS)
Please make sure that the micro SD card is inserted in your IP camera.
1. Power off the IP Camera.
2. Open the IP camera by removing the 4 screws.
3. Carefully take off the backside.
4. Insert the micro SD card.
5. Power ON the IP Camera.
NOTE: The SD card should be a Class 10 SD card with a maximum capacity of 32 GB!

• Auto start recording: the camera will record constantly, also when there is no movement in front of the
camera.
• Record audio: the camera will automatically record all audio.
• Split size (MB): you can choose the size of every recorded file.
• Format SD card: all files on the micro SD card will be deleted.
5.2.1.4. SD card query (only for models with SD card reader)
You can view all the images that are recorded on your SD card.

5.2.1.5. Alarm settings
• Motion detection: the camera will give an alarm based on motion.
• Alarm sensitivity: You can select the level of sensitivity that triggers the alarm. Choose high for an alarm that
goes off with the slightest movement. Choose low for an alarm that goes off when there is a very clear change
in the image.
• Audio Alarm Detection: The camera will give an alarm based on sounds.
• Audio Alarm Sensitivity: you can choose the level of sensitivity that triggers the alarm. Choose high for an
alarm that goes off with the softest sounds. Choose low for an alarm that goes off only if there is a clear and
loud sound.
• SD card Alarm record: when an alarm is detected, images will be recorded on the SD card.
• Alarm pictures: you can choose the number of photos that will be made when the alarm goes off.
5.2.1.6. Email settings

The IP camera can detect motion. This function does not work by using an infrared receiver, but by digitally “looking”
at the image through the camera. When there are too much changes in the image, the motion alarm will be activated.
The sensitivity is adjustable. For outdoor cameras, please note that leaves moving in the wind and rain are also
detected as “motion”. In case of an alarm, the camera can send an alert to the PC (if the software is activated), send
an email, or start recording on the SD card (if available).
In the "Receiver email" field, you should enter the email address that needs to receive the alerts. In the "Sender email"
field you should enter a hotmail or gmail address. Enter the corresponding name (including @gmail.com or
@hotmail.com) and password for the fields “SMTP user” and “SMTP Password”. Note that “587” has to be entered for
“SMTP port”. If you click on “Check e-mail address”, a test e-mail will be sent. If the test e-mail does not arrive, please
also check the Junk e-mail!
5.2.1.7. Cloud settings
You can only use the FTP function with an SD card in the camera.
Enter the details of the FTP server, namely:
• URL of the FTP server
• Login Name
• Password
• The default port is port 21
The FTP server needs to be specified INCLUDING ftp:// and should not point to sub-directories. The user should have
rights to create / append / delete / sub-directories or full access.

5.2.2. System settings
• Reboot the camera: You can restart the camera from a distance. This may take several minutes.
• Restore to factory settings: all passwords and other stored information will be erased and restored to factory
settings.

6. WAN CAMERA
6.1. WAN Login
Choose “Create account”.
Enter a user name, password and e-mail address. Press “Done” to confirm your registration. You will be sent to the
login page.

For use over the Internet (WAN), you will be asked to log in. There are 2 possibilities to login.
1. You can login per camera. Find the login details at the bottom of the IP Camera. You need to enter the user
name (CAM ID) and Password (Login Password) or scan the QR-code by pressing the QR symbol. Now you
can only see the camera where you have logged into.
2. To see a list of all your camera’s, you can log in with the username and password you’ve created yourself in
step 6.1. You can add all your camera’s by filing in each camera ID and access code (on the bottom of the
camera) or by scanning the QR-code of the camera. Now you can view all your camera’s by just filling in your
own username and password and you don’t have to remind all the camera ID’s and access codes anymore.
To logout press “back” until you are back at the login screen.
You can see the login history by pressing on the “Clock” icon in the upper right corner. To delete the history press the
“X” button next to each username.
6.2. WAN Camera browsing
When you are logged in, click on the camera you want to see. The program is now going to make contact with your IP
camera. This can take a few seconds.

When the image appears, the camera is ready to operate. If you want to control the camera you can press the
buttons of the control panel. (For more information go to chapter “7.1 Control Panel”).

You can choose a new password for "view only" or "view and operate. If you choose “view only”, you can only view
the images from the camera but you cannot operate it. If you choose to “view and operate”, you can view the
images and change the camera settings.
Another way to change the password is going back to the “WAN” list and press “Options” in the right upper corner.
Press “Change Password” and fill in the new password. If you want to delete the password you have chosen and you
want to use the additional password, reset the camera by pressing the reset button on the bottom of the IP camera.

Here you can review the recorded footage by pressing on the title of the file or delete them by pressing a few seconds
on the title of the file until a pop-up window appears to confirm the removal. If you want to send a file to someone
else press and choose the way you want to send your file.

Here you take a look at all alarm notifications.

Here you can find more information about the mrSafe app and the capacity of your device. You can also share your
files with a friend by choosing which media you want to send with.

2. AAN DE SLAG
2.1. Aansluiten van het apparaat
A. INDOOR IP CAMERA
• Neem de mrSafe indoor IP camera uit de doos. Bevestig de wifi-antenne (8).
• Sluit de voedingsadapter (10) aan.
• Sluit de netwerkkabel (9) aan en steek het andere einde in uw router. Het netwerklichtje springt aan.
OPMERKING: Als er geen lichtje gaat branden, trek de voedingsadapter en de netwerk kabel uit. Controleer of uw
router OK is en sluit beide kabels opnieuw aan.
B. OUTDOOR IP CAMERA
De Outdoor mrSafe camera heeft vele aansluitingen. Als de mrSafe camera binnen het wifi bereik van uw internet
modem geplaatst kan worden, dan hoeft u alleen maar een stroomvoorziening te verzorgen. We adviseren om
de camera eerst bij uw computer in te stellen, en vervolgens (dicht) bij de plaats van installatie te testen. Als de
wifi gedurende 1 dag stabiel blijft werken, dan lijkt het wifi bereik voldoende te zijn.

Hieronder een voorbeeld installatie:
Neem de mrSafe outdoor IP camera uit de doos. Bevestig de wifi-antenne (9) en de beugel (10).
We gebruiken een kabeldoos die voor een paar euro bij de bouwmarkt verkrijgbaar is.
De tules of wartels worden rond de kabels geplaatst. Mogelijk dient u de tule rond de camerakabel in te snijden,
deze moet dan later wel afgedicht worden. In de kabeldoos worden 2 aansluitingen aan de onderzijde geopend.
De kabels worden in de doos ingevoerd, en zo geplaatst dat het past zonder dat er spanning op een verbinding of
kabel staat. Als u de doos moet insnijden om de camerakabel in te voeren, dan dient dit later afgedicht te worden.
De voedingskabel van de adapter wordt tijdelijk uit de aansluitdoos verwijderd.
De camera wordt op de gewenste locatie bevestigd.

Er wordt een gat van ca. 10 mm door de muur geboord. Van binnenuit wordt de ronde stekker van de
voedingskabel naar buiten gevoerd. De kabeldoos wordt dicht bij deze voedingskabel geplaatst. De ronde stekker
wordt in de kabeldoos aangesloten op de kabel van de camera.
Het gat in de muur, de tules of wartels en een eventuele insnijding in de kabeldoos dienen met kit waterdicht
afgewerkt te worden.
Eventueel zet u de kabel nog vast. De adapter wordt nu in het stopcontact gestoken en de installatie werkt.

3. TERMINOLOGIE
LAN: Local Area Network: Uw thuis-netwerk, dat uw internet modem en alle apparatuur omvat in het huis dat is
aangesloten op het netwerk via kabel of Wifi.
WAN: Wide Area Network: Het internet, een internetverbinding thuis of ergens anders.
Resolutie: De kwaliteit en scherpte van de beelden. De resolutie wordt uitgedrukt in pixels horizontaal x verticaal. Hoe
hoger de resolutie hoe beter de beeldkwaliteit van de IP-camera.
Bitrate: Het aantal bits (overdracht van informatie) die via een netwerkverbinding kan worden verzonden of

per tijdseenheid te verzenden of ontvangen.
Framerate: Het aantal frames die per seconde in beeld worden gebracht.
4. WIFI INSTELLINGEN
• Ga naar de App Store, zoek naar ”mrSafe” in de “alleen iPhone” categorie en download de App of ga naar
iTunes en zoek naar “mrSafe” en download de App.
• Installeer de App op uw Apple apparaat.
• Start de App na installatie.
• Connecteer uw Apple apparaat via Wifi met hetzelfde netwerk als de camera.

In de App, ga naar “LAN” (onderaan). U zal nu de camera zien staan. Klik op het symbool naast de camera en
selecteer “Wifi instellingen”.
Klik op “Wifinaam” om de beschikbare netwerken weer te geven. Selecteer uw netwerk en voer uw wachtwoord in.
Na bevestiging zal de IP-camera herstarten (dit zal ongeveer 2 minuten duren).
Nadat u de wifi heeft ingesteld, dient u allereerst te controleren of de camera goed functioneert als deze dicht bij het
modem geplaatst wordt. Als dat het geval is, dan dient u de camera los te plaatsen op de gewenste plaats en enige
dagen te controleren of op die locatie de wifi verbinding stabiel blijft, of het wifi signaal altijd sterk genoeg is.
Als dat het geval is kunt u de camera definitief bevestigen. Is de verbinding niet stabiel, dan dient u een locatie dichter
bij het modem te zoeken, de verbinding met een netwerkkabel te maken of een wifi repeater tussen de camera en het
internet modem te plaatsen.

5. LAN CAMERA
Alle camera's die online zijn in uw lokale netwerk (LAN) worden weergegeven in de LAN-lijst.
5.1. LAN Camera browsing
Ga naar de LAN-lijst en klik op de camera die u wilt zien. Het programma gaat nu contact met uw IP-camera maken.
Dit kan enkele seconden duren.
Wanneer het beeld verschijnt, is de camera klaar voor gebruik. Als het beeld niet helemaal scherp is, kunt u aan de
lens draaien om het beeld scherp te stellen.
Als u de camera wilt bedienen, kunt u de knoppen van het bedieningspaneel gebruiken (Voor meer informatie ga naar
het hoofdstuk “7.1. Bedieningspaneel”).

5.2. LAN Camera instellingen
U kunt de instellingen van elke camera wijzigen door te klikken op het symbool naast de camera.
5.2.1. Instellingsopties
5.2.1.1. Wifi
Gebruik deze instellingen alleen voor het gebruik van de Wifi-verbinding! Zie hoofdstuk “4. WIFI INSTELLINGEN”.

5.2.1.2. Video Instellingen
In het menu Video Instellingen kunt u de volgende instellingen wijzigen:
• Hoofdverbinding: mrSafe IP camera’s gebruiken enkel main stream. Deze instelling niet veranderen!
• Resolutie: u kunt de resolutie van de beelden aanpassen aan uw eigen wensen. Voor meer informatie over
Resolutie zie “3. Terminologie”.
• Beeldsnelheid: u kunt de hoeveelheid frames aanpassen aan uw eigen wensen. Voor meer informatie over
Framerate zie “3. Terminologie”.
• Gegevenssnelheid: Voor meer informatie over Bitrate zie “3. Terminologie”.
Druk op "Gereed" om de instellingen op te slaan.
5.2.1.3. SD-kaart instellingen (ENKEL VOOR HD IP CAMERA’S)
Zorg ervoor dat de micro SD-kaart in uw IP-camera is geplaatst.
• Schakel de IP Camera uit.
• Open de IP camera door de 4 schroeven te verwijderen.
• Haal voorzichtig de achterzijde weg.
• Plaats de micro SD-kaart.
• Schakel de IP Camera aan.
Belangrijk: De SD-kaart moet een Class 10 SD-kaart zijn met een maximale capaciteit van 32 GB!

• Opnemen automatisch starten: de camera zal voortdurend opnemen, ook als er geen beweging wordt
waargenomen.
• Geluid opnemen: de camera zal automatisch alle audio opnemen.
• Gedeelde ruimte: u kunt de grootte van ieder opgenomen bestand kiezen.
• Formateer SD kaart: alle bestanden op de micro SD kaart worden verwijderd.
5.2.1.4. SD kaart openen (enkel voor modellen met SD kaartlezer)
U kunt alle beelden opgenomen op de Micro SD-kaart bekijken.

5.2.1.5. Alarminstellingen
• Bewegingsdetectie: de camera zal een alarm geven op basis van bewegingen.
• Alarm gevoeligheid: u kunt het niveau van gevoeligheid kiezen waarop het alarm moet afgaan. Kies hoog voor
een alarm dat afgaat met de kleinste bewegingen. Kies laag voor een alarm dat alleen afgaat als er een
duidelijke verandering in beeld wordt waargenomen.
• Audio alarm detectie: de camera zal een alarm geven op basis van geluiden.
• Audio alarm gevoeligheid: u kunt het niveau van gevoeligheid kiezen waarop het alarm moet afgaan. Kies hoog
voor een alarm dat afgaat met de zachtste geluiden. Kies laag voor een alarm dat alleen afgaat als er een
duidelijk en luid geluid waargenomen wordt.
• PIR: niet van toepassing
• SD kaart alarm opname: bij een alarm zal er op de SD kaart opgenomen worden.
• Alarm foto’s: u kan het aantal foto’s kiezen dat het programma maakt wanneer het alarm afgaat.
5.2.1.6. Emailinstellingen

De IP camera kan beweging detecteren. Dit werkt niet met een infrarood ontvanger, maar door het digitaal “bekijken”
van het beeld door de camera. Als er teveel veranderd in het beeld zal het bewegingsalarm geactiveerd worden. De
gevoeligheid is instelbaar. Hou er voor buitencamera’s rekening mee dat het bewegen van bladeren door de wind en
neerslag ook als beweging gedetecteerd kan worden. Ingeval van alarm kan de camera een waarschuwing naar de PC
sturen als de software aanstaat en/of een email sturen.
• Bij “E-mail ontvanger” geeft u het email adres op waarop de alarmmelding ontvangen moet worden. Bij “E-
mail verzender” geeft u een hotmail of gmail adres op. De bijbehorende naam (inclusief @gmail.com of
@hotmail.com) en wachtwoord vult u in bij SMTP gebruikersnaam en SMTP wachtwoord. Let op dat bij “SMTP
poort” 587 wordt ingevuld.
• Als u op “Controleer e-mail adres” klikt, wordt een test email verzonden. Indien deze niet aankomt, controleer
dan ook de map Ongewenste email!
5.2.1.7. Cloud instellingen
U kunt alleen gebruik maken van de FTP-server met een SD-kaart in de camera.
Geef de details van de FTP-server in:
• URL van de FTP-server
• Gebruikersnaam
• Wachtwoord
• De standaard poort is poort 21
De FTP-server moet worden ingegeven, INCLUSIEF de vermelding ftp:// en mag niet verwijzen naar sub-mappen. De
gebruiker moet volledige toegang hebben of rechten hebben om sub-mappen te creëren / toevoegen / verwijderen.

5.2.2. Systeeminstellingen
• De camera opnieuw starten: u kan de camera herstarten vanop een afstand. Dit kan enkele minuten duren.
• Terugzetten naar fabrieksinstellingen: alle wachtwoorden en andere opgeslagen informatie zullen worden gewist
en worden teruggezet naar de fabrieksinstellingen.

6. WAN CAMERA
6.1. WAN Login
Kies “Account maken”.
Vul een gebruikersnaam, wachtwoord en een e-mailadres in. Druk op “Gereed” om uw registratie te bevestigen. U
wordt doorgestuurd naar de login pagina.

Voor gebruik via het internet (WAN), wordt u gevraagd om in te loggen. Er zijn 2 mogelijkheden om in te loggen:
1. U kunt inloggen per camera. U vind de inloggegevens aan de onderkant van de IP-camera. U moet de
gebruikersnaam (CAM -ID) en paswoord invoeren of de QR-code scannen door op het QR icoon te klikken.
Als u uw wachtwoord wil opslaan moet u op het sleuteltje naast het wachtwoord klikken. Nu kunt u alleen de
camera waar u zich voor hebt aangemeld bekijken.
2. Om een lijst van al uw camera 's te zien, kunt u inloggen met de gebruikersnaam en het wachtwoord dat u zelf
heeft aangemaakt in stap 6.1. U kunt al uw camera's toevoegen door telkens camera-ID en toegangscode (op
de onderkant van de camera) toe te voegen. Nu kunt u alle camera’s bekijken door het invullen van uw eigen
gebruikersnaam en wachtwoord en hoeft u niet alle camera-ID’s en toegangscodes te onthouden.
Om uit te loggen, klikt u op “Terug” tot u weer bij het inlogscherm bent.
U kunt de login-geschiedenis bekijken door op het "Klok" pictogram in de rechterbovenhoek te drukken. Om de
geschiedenis te verwijderen drukt u op "x" naast de gebruikersnaam.

Wanneer u bent ingelogd, klikt u op de camera die u wilt zien. Het programma gaat nu contact met uw IP-camera
maken. Dit kan enkele seconden duren.
Wanneer het beeld verschijnt, is de camera klaar voor gebruik. Als u de camera wilt bedienen, kunt u op de knoppen

6.3.1.6. Toegangscode wijzigen
Vul een nieuw paswoord in om in te loggen op uw IP camera. Kies “Gereed” om de instellingen te bevestigen. Vanaf
nu werkt de camera met het nieuwe paswoord in plaats van met het oude.
U kunt met het nieuwe wachtwoord kiezen voor “alleen bekijken” of “bedienen en bekijken”. Dit betekent dat
wanneer u alleen kiest voor bekijken dat u met dat nieuwe wachtwoord alleen de beelden van de camera kunt
bekijken en dus niet bedienen. Als u kiest voor bekijken en bedienen, kunt u met dat wachtwoord de beelden
bekijken en ook de instellingen van de camera veranderen.

Een andere manier om het wachtwoord te wijzigen is teruggaan naar de "WAN" lijst. Druk op "Options" in de
rechterbovenhoek. Druk op "Change Password" en vul het nieuwe wachtwoord in. Als u het wachtwoord dat u hebt
gekozen wilt verwijderen en u wilt het originele wachtwoord gebruiken, druk op de reset-knop aan de onderkant van
de IP-camera. De camera zal alle voorgaande wachtwoorden verwijderen.

8. BESTANDEN
Hier kunt u de opgenomen beelden bekijken door op de titel van de opname te drukken of ze verwijderen door enkele
seconden op de titel te drukken tot er een pop-up scherm verschijnt dat u vraagt te bevestigen dat het bestand
verwijderd mag worden. Als u het bestand naar iemand wil versturen, druk dan op en kies hoe u het bestand wil
verzenden.
