BEFORE FIRST USE
Wash the rice bowl, the lid, the measur-
ing cup and the spatula in warm, soapy
water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Wipe
the base with a clean, damp cloth. Dry
thoroughly. Do not use harsh detergents
or abrasive cleaners on any parts of the
appliance. Never immerse the base in
water or any other liquid.
HOW TO COOK RICE
Before each use, make sure that the out-
side of the rice bowl is clean and dry and
that the heat sensor in the centre, on the
inside of the base, is clean, dry and cool.
Handle the rice bowl carefully. Scratching
or denting the bowl may result in unsatis-
factory performance.
1. Measure rice and water and place
evenly in rice bowl. NEVER PUT ANY
LIQUID INTO THE BASE. The lid has
to be used during the entire prepara-
tion time.
NOTE: There are differing opinions
about whether rice should be washed
before cooking. Drier fluffier rice is
obtained by washing rice first.
2. Place rice bowl in base and lid on rice
bowl.
Make sure the bowl is placed properly
sat onto the base.
3. Plug cord into a 230 Volt AC outlet.
The power is now on and remain on
while the appliance is plugged in.
4. Press the power switch next to the
power cord On (I). Press down the
“COOK” switch on the front of the
cooker. The indicator illuminates
when the cooking has started. At the
end of the cooking phase, it auto-
matically switches to the “keep warm”
function. After about 20-35 minutes
the rice will be cooked. Gently stir the
rice using the spatula provided. The
rice is now ready to serve.
5. Press the power switch Off (O) and
unplug after each use. Grasp the
plug, not the cord. If the rice is to
be kept warm leave the rice cooker
plugged in. Reposition the lid after
having fluffed the rice.
