Explanation of symbols
Read the instruction manual carefully before
using this device, especially the safety
instructions, and keep the instruction manual
for future use. Should you give this device to
another person, it is vital that you also pass on
these instructions for use.
GB Safety Instructions Switch positions
0 = the heat pad is switched o, the
operating control display is o.
1 = lowest heat level, the operating
control display shows “1”.
Level 1 is recommended for conti-
nuous operation.
2 = middle heat level, the operating
control display shows “2”.
3 = highest heat level, the operating
control display shows “3”.
Automatic switch-o
The heat pad is equipped with an automatic switch-o. This
switches the unit o after 90 minutes of operation, independent
of the heat level selected. Return the switch to position 0. How-
ever , to switch the heat pad back on, move the switch back to
position 0 and then move it to the heat level required.
Cleaning and maintenance
• Before cleaning the heat pad, unplug it from the mains outlet
and let it cool down for at least ten minutes.
• The heat pad is equipped with a removable control unit Un-
plug the control unit from the heat pad by pulling out the
connection cable from the plug on the heat pad 5 .
• The heat pad can be machine washed at 30° in a delicate
programme or by hand gently . The best way to do this is to
put the heat pad in a bath with lukewarm water and some
mild detergent and then gently squeeze it out.
• Never use strong detergents or hard brushes.
• T o dry , lay the heat pad at on a moisture-absorbent towel
or mat.
• Only use the heat pad again once it is completely dry .
• Reconnect the control unit to the heat pad in the correct
manner .
• Y ou should untangle the cable from time to time.
• Store the unit in a clean and dry place, laid out at with
nothing covering or resting on top of it.
Disposal
This product must not be disposed of together with do-
mestic waste. All users are obliged to hand in all elec -
trical or electronic devices, regardless of whether or not
they contain toxic substances, at a municipal or com-
mercial collection point so that they can be disposed of
in an environmentally acceptable manner . Consult your local
authority or your supplier for information about disposal.

W arranty and repair terms
Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of
a claim under the warranty . If you have to return the unit,
please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the
defect is.
The following warranty terms apply:
1. The warranty period for medisana products is three years
from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim,
the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the
sales receipt or invoice.
2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free
of charge within the warranty period.
3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty
period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.
4. The following is excluded under the warranty:
a. All damage which has arisen due to improper
treatment, e.g. non-observance of the user
instructions.
b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the
customer or unauthorised third parties.
c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the
manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to
the service centre.
d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear .
5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused
by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is
accepted as a warranty claim.

4Power supply
• Before connecting the heat pad to the power supply , please
check that it is switched o and that the mains voltage of your
power supply corresponds to the voltage listed on the label.
• Keep mains cable and control unit away from heat, humidity
and liquids. Never touch the mains plug when your hands are
wet or when you are standing in water .
• Only operate the heating pad with the corresponding switching
unit SS02 .
• Do not attempt to touch a heat pad which has fallen into water .
Pull the plug out of the socket immediately .
• T o disconnect the heat pad, always pull the mains plug out of
the mains socket. Never pull on the cable!
• Do not carry , pull or twist the heat pad using the mains cable.
• Make sure that the power socket and plug are easily accessib-
le so you can unplug the mains quickly if necessary .
• The cable and control unit of the appliance can give rise to
risks of entanglement, strangulation, tripping or treading if not
correctly arranged. The user shall make sure that excess ties
and electric cords shall be arranged in a safe way .
For special people
• The device complies with the guidelines on electromagnetic
compatibility . If you wear a pacemaker , this could be aected.
Consult your doctor and the manufacturer of your pacemaker
before using this device.
• If you have any medical concerns, please discuss using the
heat pad with your doctor before using it.
• Do not use the device on children or persons who are disab-
led, asleep or insensitive to heat (persons who cannot react on
overheating).
• Children below the age of 3 years are not allowed to use this
device, because they are not able to react on overheating.
• The device must not be used by young children over the age of
3 years, unless the control unit has been adjusted accordingly
by its parents or legal guardians and unless the child has been
well instructed how to use the control unit properly .
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• The appliance can be used by children older than 3 years and
younger than 8 years under supervision and with the control
always set to minimum temperature value.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Please ensure that the polythene packing is kept away from
the reach of children! Risk of suocation!
• Do not use the heat pad on parts of the body which are swol-
len, inamed or injured.
• Consult your doctor , if you have pain in muscles or joints for a
prolonged period of time.
Operating the device
• Only use the heat pad as intended and in accordance with the
instruction manual.
• The warranty will become void if it is used improperly .
• Do not use the unit for animals.
• This heat pad is intended only for private use and not for com-
mercial purposes or for use in hospitals.
• The heating pad is subject to aging. Check heat pad, mains
cable and control unit carefully for damage before each use. A
faulty unit must not be used.
• Do not use the appliance if it is damaged, if its power cord is
damaged, if it is not in perfect working order , or if it has been
dropped or fallen into water . Send the unit to the service centre
for repair to avoid potential hazards.
• Keep the unit out of rain and do not let it get wet. It must not be
used out-of-doors.
• Never place the unit immediately next to a heater or radiator .
• Ensure that the unit does not come into contact with pointed or
sharp objects and do not push pins into it.
• The heat pad must not be used if it has been folded, bent or
crushed.

• Do not use the heat pad underneath quilts, blanket or pillows
or cushions.
• Do not use the heat pad when wet and only use it in dry envi-
ronments (not in the bathroom or similar environments).
• The control unit must not be placed on or under the heat pad
during operation and it must not be covered.
• Do not sit on the heat pad, but place it like a cushion on the
body part, as required.
• Do not leave the heat pad unattended. Always switch o the
heat pad when not in use and pull the plug out of the socket.
Never use a time switch.
• Do not fall asleep while the heat pad is switched on and the
plug is inserted into the socket.
• Ensure that you follow the safety notes, as prolonged use at
a high setting can result in burns to the skin. Check the skin
areas under the heat pad regularly to prevent burns or blisters.
• If use of the heat pad is unpleasant or painful, discontinue
using it immediately .
Maintenance and cleaning
• Y ou may only clean the heat pad. T o avoid potential hazards,
you must never attempt to repair it yourself. Contact the ser-
vice centre.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
• Before cleaning the unit, switch it o and unplug it from the
mains. Never immerse the control unit in water or other uids.
• Let the heat pad cool down completely before storing it. Store
it in a place that is dry and free from dust, preferably in the
original packaging, until you use it next.
• Do not crease the appliance by placing items on top of it du-
ring storage.
• If a fault occurs, do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Re-
pairs must only be carried out by an authorized specialist dea-
ler or other suitably qualied personnel.
• A damaged power supply cable must be replaced with a pow-
er cable of the same type..
Scope of supply
Please check rst of all that the device is complete and is not
damaged in any way . In case of doubt, do not use the it and
contact your dealer or your service centre.

If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please
contact your dealer without delay .
Use
Y ou can use the heat pad to gently heat and relax any part of the
body . Use of the heat pad promotes blood circulation through
sore muscles and increases wellbeing after a strenuous day .
The heat pad reaches a pleasant temperature within a few mi-
nutes of switching on. The temperature can be adjusted as re-
quired.
Operation
Insert the mains plug into the socket and switch on the heat pad.
T o do this move the switch on the control unit 1 to position 1, 2
or 3, as required. The switch clicks into each position. When the
appliance is switched on, the regulating level appears on the
operating control display 2 . The higher the regulating level, the
higher the temperature. T o switch o the unit, move the switch
completely back to position 0. If the operating control display
goes out, the device is switched o.
Move the selector switch to position 1 before falling asleep or
any continuous use. The heat pad will switch o automatically
after approx. 90 minutes of continuous use. Unplug the unit
from the mains outlet once you have nished using it.
