2. Important! Read carefully before carrying out any work!
This control unit may only be connected and put into operation by qualified and
suitably trained specialist personnel. For the purpose of this description qualified and
suitably trained specialist personnel are persons who are adequately instructed or
supervised by qualified electricians and are thus in a position to recognize the hazards
that electricity can cause. Moreover, they must hold qualifications consistent with the
work being carried out, in particular they must
• knowledge of applicable electro-technological regulations,
• have received training in the use and maintenance of adequate safety equipment,
• as well as first aid training.
Before carrying out any cabling work, it is essential to disconnect the control unit from
the mains supply.
Observe local safety regulations!
Always lay mains cable and control cable separately!
Control voltage 24 V DC.
Before putting the control unit into operation, it is essential to ensure that there are no
persons or objects within the door's area of operation, since a number of settings set
the door in motion.
All available emergency command devices must be tested prior to
initial operation.
The door operator may only be installed with the door closed.
After installation and initial operation, those persons or their representatives
responsible for operating the door system must be shown how the door system works.
Special note for installation according to protection category IP 65:
At the very latest following initial operation, the cable with plug allowing connection
to the mains must be replaced by a direct mains connection. At the same time a mains
isolator switch must be fitted.
Non-compliance with these warning and safety instructions can
lead to bodily injury and material damage.
5
Insert the mains plug of the control unit into a site electric socket in accordance
with CEE standard 16 A.
Check that the voltage at the electric socket corresponds with that given
on the control unit's data plate and also that its protection category
complies with local requirements.
If the control unit is to be connected directly to the mains, a mains
isolator switch will have to be installed.
For the Control 22: control unit: The rotary field must be of clockwise
rotation.
Operational check of the mains connection
3.1
Selecting 'press-and-release' / 'press-and-hold' operation in the
'OPEN' direction
Via the programming switch S7 (41) the control unit's mode of operation can
be switched from 'press-and-release' to 'press-and-hold' push button operation
in the 'OPEN' direction. With the 'press-and-hold' operation mode, the operator
is started by pressing and holding the 'OPEN' button (11) and stopped by
releasing it again.
For initial operation and the basic settings of the limit switches,
switch the programming switch S7 (41) to the OFF position to programme
press-and-hold operation.
3.2 Connections in the control unit
Connecting the membrane keypad
Connect the system cable for the supplied membrane keypad to the socket X10
(28) in the control unit.
The control unit features a static current circuit. If a malfunction occurs
in any of the safety devices of the door system, the static current circuit
immobilizes power operation of the door.
Elements within this static current circuit are the cable slack switch and wicket
door switch, the cable safety device and the limit switch of the night lock.

3.3 Control unit - door leaf connection
Connecting the cable slack device
Connect the system cable to the X10a (29) socket in the control unit.
Fig. B/1: Control unit - door leaf connection
3.4 Initial operation of the control unit
With the following settings, it is important to ensure that the door is
NEVER allowed to close or open fully. Halt the door at least 50 cm before
it reaches its mechanical travel limits by pressing the 'STOP' button (13),
or if in the press-and-hold mode, by releasing the push button.
• Half open the door by hand.
• Switch on at the mains.
The VOLTAGE control light (1) on the control panel should light up.
- if this is not the case, look up section 'no voltage' in the test instructions.
• Press the 'OPEN' button (11).
The door should open.
- Door closes: press the 'STOP' button, reverse the rotary field.
- Door doesn't move: Look up section 'no function' in the test instructions.

Operational check of the safety circuit
• Actuate each safety element separately.
Power operation of the door should now no longer be possible.
- If this is not the case, check the electrical connection of the respective safety
element.
3.5 Setting of the limit switches
3.5.1 Dynamic 121 - 128
Close the door manually.
Remove the door operator's transparent cover.
Release the switching spindle by shifting the red no-load lever (50) forward and
pressing the wheel's inner door link disc (51) towards the spindle (see fig. C/1).
Turn the knurled wheel (52) clockwise until the switching carriage (53) actuates
the 'CLOSE' limit switch. The red LED (54) lights up (see fig. C/1). Relatch the
door link disc and make secure by re-engaging the no-load lever (makes an
audible click on engaging), as shown in fig. C/2. If necessary, re-adjust the
setting via the fine adjustment facility (55) on the switching carriage; turn the
adjusting cam clockwise: the operator cuts off earlier.

The door must now be opened fully by hand.
Via the smaller knurled wheel (56), now turn the adjusting spindle, until the 'OPEN'
limit switch (57) is actuated by the switching carriage (see fig. C/2). The green LED
(58) lights up.
Return the transparent cover to the operator.

Note / Advice
For setting the cams you need a socket head screwdriver with handle,
width across flats 2,5mm.
3.5.2.1 Setting of end position DOOR CLOSED
Move the door manually into the mechanical end position DOOR CLOSED.
Open the case lid of the door operator.
Loosen the locking device (grub screw (J)) of the switch cam (A).
Adjust the switch cam A so that the limit switch DOOR CLOSED (G) is operated as
shown in illustration D.1 (position H).
Fix the switch cam (A) again by tightening the grub screw (J).
If necessary, adjust the position of the door DOOR CLOSED with the screw for fine
adjustment (K) at the switch cam.

3.5.2.2 Setting of limit switch SKS-STOP
The limit switch SKS-STOP deactivates the protection of the closing edge shortly
before reaching the end position DOOR CLOSED to avoid wrong reactions
(for example unwanted reciprocating).
Loosen the locking device (grub screw (J)) of the switch cam (E).
Adjust the switch cam (E) so that the limit switch SKS-STOP (G) is operated
approx. 5 cm before the profile of the door reaches the floor.
Fix the switch cam (E) again by tightening the grub screw (J).
