n At the end of the cycle (i.e. when there is no more water in the tank), the heat will be maintained until it
turns off automatically after about 30 minutes for glass jugs and three minutes for thermal jugs.
Your appliance is fitted with thermal jugs (according to model):
n Follow the illustrations from 10 to 18.
n Do not fill the water tank above the max graduation mark.
n For better keep warm performances, rinse the thermal jug (i) in hot water before use.
n Remove the filter holder (e), and turn the lid firmly to the right (figure 17).
n To pour, rotate the cover one quarter turn to the left (figure 18).
n At the end of the cycle your appliance will stop automatically.
Your appliance is equipped with a “reinforced aroma” system on the left side of the appliance,
for one to three cups (according to model):
The aroma system provide flavoured coffee when you want only 1,2 or 3 cups. For 1 to 3 cups, put the
switch (d) to the AROMA 1-3 position (figure 24). For 4 cups or more, keep the switch (d) in OFF position.
MAKING TEA (ACCORDING TO MODEL)
n Follow the illustrations from 19 to 23.
n Proceed as you would when making coffee.
n Set the desired position for the automatic preparation of tea. Position 2-5 for two to five cups, and position
5 max for 5 cups and over (figure 23).
CLEANING
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
n Do not clean the appliance when still hot.
n Clean with a damp cloth or sponge.
n Never put the appliance into water on under running water.
n To remove the used grounds or leaves, remove the filter holder from the coffee-maker.
n The glass jugs (g), their lids, and the filter holder (e) can be placed in the dishwasher.
Cleaning the thermal jugs (according to model)
n These should be handled with care. Add a little washing-up liquid and water, and shake gently. Stubborn
stains can be removed using a soft brush.
n Never clean them with hard objects. Scratches on the glass can cause the interior to break.
n Never put them in the dishwasher, and never immerse them in water. The lids can be placed in the
dishwasher.
DESCALING
n De-scale your appliance once every 40 cycles of use (very hard water) or 80 cycles (soft water). You can use:
- either one sachet of scale remover which can be purchased from a hardware store diluted in 2 large
glasses of water,
- or 2 large glasses of white vinegar commercially available
Place the mixture into the water tank of the coffee- maker (without coffee grounds or tea leaves). Allow the
equivalent of one glassful to run into the jug (g) or the thermal jug (i) (according to model), and then switch
off the coffee-maker. Leave the mixture to work in the appliance for one hour. Restart your coffee-maker to
allow the remainder of the mixture to run through. Before using again, operate the appliance 2 or 3 times
with clean water, without drinking it (full water tank). Warning: Do not leave the sachet of de-scaler within
the reach of children.
Our guarantee excludes coffee-makers which fail to operate due to a lack of descaling.
