All appliances are subject to strict quality control procedures. These include actual usage
tests on randomly selected appliances, which would explain any traces of use.
To remove the jug, press the safety button (B) and lift up the closure lever (A). (1)
Before making coffee for the first time, run the coffee maker twice, only adding water each
time. After the first cycle wait about 5 minutes before running the coffee maker again.
Plug the appliance into the mains.
Fill the water tank with the required amount of water. (2)
The jug is calibrated to help you to measure the amount of water necessary according to
the number of cups capacity 1L (8-12 cups).
Do not exceed 70 grams maximum of coffee grounds. To get the best from your coffee
maker we recommend you use 56 grams of coffee grounds as an ideal quantity.
Put a filter paper in the filter holder. (3) (no. 1 round filter papers, diameter 94 mm)
If you dampen the filter paper slightly before putting it into the filter holder, this will prevent
the coffee grounds from getting in between the filter paper and the filter holder when the
water is running through.
Put the required amount of coffee into the filter holder. (4)
The amount of ground coffee may be determined using a spoon. For a medium-strength
coffee, use one spoonful (approx. 6-7 g) per cup.
Distribute the ground coffee over the filter paper and tamp it down slightly. If you are only
making two or three cups of coffee, we recommend that you put a second filter paper over
the ground coffee. You will thus obtain a strong and flavourful cup of coffee, the same as
when you prepare the maximum number of cups.
Put the lid in place on the water tank, by turning the handle towards the back. (5)
The lid of the water tank must be properly fitted into position, so that the edge of the lid
surrounds the rubber ring.
Put the jug and the filter in place.
The handles of the lid, filter and jug must fit into one another. (6)
Put the jug in place from the front until the handle of the lid fits into place. In this way, the
coffee runs through just above the filter opening. Then bring down the closure lever firmly. (7)
The jug must be positioned in such a way that the handle is right at the centre of the
appliance (8) and not turned to the side. (9)
The closure lever MUST NOT be open during filtering, when the appliance is switched
on.
Start the appliance. (10)
If the appliance is accidentally started without any water, the element may change colour.
This has no influence on the correct functioning of the appliance.
☛ As the rise in pressure is constantly being renewed, the coffee will run through alternately.
The coffee has finished running through when the coffee no longer drips from the filter
holder for several seconds.
