▪ Avoid heavy impact to or falling down of the measuring tool. Damage to the measuring
tool can impair its accuracy. After heavy impact or shock, compare the laser lines with a
known horizontal or vertical reference line.
8.3 Switching on and off
To switch on the measuring tool, push the On/Off switch 2 to the “On” position. Immediately
after switching on, the measuring tool sends out the two laser lines.
▪ Do not point the laser beam at persons or animals and do not look into the laser beam
yourself, not even from a large distance.
▪ To switch off the measuring tool, slide the On/Off switch 2 to the “Off” position. When
switching off, the levelling unit is locked.
▪ Do not leave the switched on tool unattended and switch the tool off after use. Other
persons could be blinded by the laser beam.
▪ When not using the measuring tool, switch it off in order to extend the battery life.
8.4 Self-levelling
The laser will switch off automatically if angle is +/- 4°.
1. Place the self-levelling cross-line laser level on a flat, smooth surface that is within
±4° of horizontal.
2. Turn the tool on by sliding the power switch 2 up to the On position. The self-
levelling cross-line laser level will automatically level within 5 seconds.
3. To turn off the laser lines, slide the power switch 2 down to the Off position.
8.5 Working advice
8.5.1 Working with the tripod
A tripod offers a stable, height-adjustable measuring support. Place the measuring tool via the
tripod mount 3 on to the 1/4" male thread of the tripod and screw the locking screw of the
tripod tight.
8.5.2 Holding laterally against a wall or object
For quick checking of heights, the measuring tool can be held laterally against a vertical wall,
cabinets, etc. Take care to hold the measuring tool straightly and calmly.
9 MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
▪ Check the measuring tool each time before use. In case of visible damage or loose
components inside the measuring tool, safe function can no longer be ensured.
▪ Keep the measuring tool clean and dry at all times to ensure proper and safe working.
▪ Wipe off debris using a moist and soft cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
