This Quick User Guide helps you get started with the IRIScan™ Pro 3 Cloud scanner.

This scanner is supplied with the soware applicaons Readiris™ Corporate 14 (PC and Mac),

Cardiris™ Corporate 5 for CRM (PC), Cardiris™ Pro 4 (Mac) and IRISFile™ 12 (PC). The corresponding

Quick User Guides can be found on the IRIScan™ DVD-ROM. For detailed informaon about their full

range of features, consult the latest User Guides on www.irislink.com/support/userguides.

The descripons in this guide are based on the Windows® 7 and Mac® OS Lion Operang System. All

informaon is subject to change without prior noce.

Step 2: Install Readiris™, the Scanner Driver and the other Soware Applicaons.

Important: First install Readiris™ before you install the scanner driver or Buon Manager. Then, install the scanner

driver and soware applicaons before connecng the scanner to the computer.

Make sure you have the required administraon rights on your computer to do the installaon.

Windows

1. Insert the IRIScan™ disc in the DVD-ROM drive of the computer.

The setup menu is displayed automacally. (If the menu does not start

run setup.exe from the disc.)

2. Click Readiris™ Corporate 14 to install Readiris.

3. Click IRIScan™ Pro 3 Cloud Driver to install the driver.

Follow the on-screen instrucons.

4. Return to the setup menu and install the Buon Manager and the other soware applicaons.

Again follow the on-screen instrucons.

Note: all license numbers required to acvate the soware can be found on the license sheet included in the box.

Mac OS

1. Insert the IRIScan™ disc in the DVD-ROM drive of the computer.

2. Click the IRIScan™ Pro 3 Cloud icon that appears on the Desktop.

3. Open the IRIScan™ Pro 3 Cloud Driver folder, and run the installer.

Follow the on-screen instrucons.

4. Return to the DVD-ROM content and install the other soware applicaons.

Note: all license numbers required to acvate the soware can be found on the license sheet included in the box.

Step 3: Connect the Scanner to the Computer

Notes:

• Make sure the scanner power is OFF

before connecng it.

• Instead of the regular power cable, you

can also use the USB power cable.

Step 4: Power ON the Scanner

• Turn the power knob clockwise to any of the numbers.

• The LED will light up red, and then turn green.

Note: if the LED stays red while the scanner is connected to your computer, this means a

problem occurred. Refer to our website www.irislink.com/support for help.

Note: on Mac OS, the LED does not turn green automacally. You need to select the

IRIScan™ as scan source inside a scanning applicaon rst.

• If the driver is installed successfully, a balloon message appears on the task bar

(in Windows).

Step 5: Scanning Documents

The IRIScan™ Pro 3 Cloud can scan documents of dierent sizes, ranging from business cards to

A4/Legal.

You can use it to scan stacks of documents using the document feeder, or scan sheets separately using

the detachable base unit.

IMPORTANT: the scanner must be used from within scanning applicaons, such as

Readiris™ and Cardiris™. Pushing the Scan buon as such does not work, unless

the Buon Manager (PC only) is installed and congured correctly. Refer to the

Readiris™ and Cardiris™ Quick User Guides on the DVD-ROM to learn how to use

these applicaons with the scanner.

Using the Document Feeder

1. Open the document

feed tray.

2. Pull out the feed

extension plates at the

boom.

3. Insert the

documents, top-down

and text facing the

scanner.

4. Align the document

guides with both edges

of the document.

Tip: make sure the front input tray remains closed when using the document feeder.

Using the Base Unit

1. Open the front input

tray.

2. Insert the document,

top facing scanner and

text facing down.

3. Center the document

using the paper size marks

on the tray.

Detaching the base unit from the document feeder

The base unit can be detached from the document feeder. That way it can be used as a convenient,

portable scanner.

1. Press and hold down the release buon at the boom right side of the scanner.

2. Tilt the base unit towards you, and then detach it from the feeder.

Step 6: Using the Buon Manager (PC only)

To use the scanner buons you need to congure the Buon Manager.

1. Start the Buon Manager from the

All Programs list.

2.The Buon Manager appears in the boom

right corner of the screen.

Make sure the scanner is powered ON.

Noce that the rst 3 buons are precongured. Right-click them to view their properes. You can

congure up to 9 buons to scan your documents to your favourite output formats and applicaons. By

means of example, we congure a blank buon to scan to Readiris™ 14.

Conguring a scanner buon

1. Right-click a blank buon. 2. In the Buon Properes

window, click Add/Delete.

3. In the new window, click the

Add buon at the boom.

4. Click Browse to browse and

select the Readiris™ applicaon.

By default you nd it in

C:\Program Files\Readiris Corporate 14.

5. Name the applicaon. 6. Select a le format supported

by the applicaon, then

click OK.

IMPORTANT: to scan mulple

pages into a single le, select

Tagged Informaon File (.TIF)

7. Select Readiris, and click the

Add buon in the middle of the

window.

8. Add a conguraon. 9. Select a color mode and

resoluon, and click OK.

TIP: a resoluon between 300 and

600 dpi is recommended.

10. IMPORTANT:

To scan mulple pages to a single

le, click the Opons tab. Then

select Mul-page.

(Only available when you selected

.TIF as le format).

11. Click Apply to save

the sengs.

12. The congured buon is

ready for use.

- Click it to scan to Readiris™.

- Or turn the power knob to

number 4. Then press Scan on

the scanner to scan directly to

Readiris™.

Tips

Checking and replacing the ADF pad assembly

Check if the ADF (automac document feeder) pad assembly is mounted correctly at the back of the

scanner:

1. Retract the scanner. 2. Press down the 2 latches at the back of the

document feeder to open the rear cover.

3. The rubber part of the pad assembly should be

inserted in the slot.

4. If that is not the case, use your ngers to press

and hold the two sides of the pad assembly to

remove it.

5. Insert the rubber part into the slot and

re-aach the pad assembly.

Note: you nd an extra pad assembly in the IRIScan™ package, should the current one need replacing

(recommended aer 20,000 scans or in case of repeated paper jams).
