Theknobforprimaryandsecondaryair(1)issettomaximumbyturningitclockwise(max.primary
air),andtheknobforthepane-ushingsystem(4)issettomaximumbyturningitclockwise(max.
pane-ushingair).Laysplitkindlingcorrespondingtoapproximately2-3largepiecesofwood(about
twokg)inthewood-burningstove.Laytworelightersinbetweenthetoplayerofkindling.Next,
igniteandallowtheretospreadslowly.
During lighting, condensation can form on the inside of the glass. After some time, the pane-flushing
systemwilleliminatethecondensation.Whenallthekindlinghasbeenproperlylit,turntheadjustment
knob (1) to the middle position. If the fire is stifled from the adjustment, set the knob back to maximum
untilthereisonceagainsufcient.Thenturntheadjustmentknobbacktothemiddleposition.Allow
thekindlingtoburnoutuntiltherearenomorevisibleames.Afterwards,therecanbestoked.
Ash pan
Important!Donotopentheashpanwhenlightingupthestove,andalwayskeepitclosedwhenthe
stoveisinuse,asotherwisetheautomaticairregulationwillbespoiled.
Burning (Drawing F)
Whentherearenomorevisibleyellowamesandanappropriatelayerofembershasformed,you
mayre-rethestove.Thelayerofembersisappropriatewhenthewoodpiecesfallapartandthe
embers light at the shaking grate.
Put2-3logsofnewrewood,upto1kgalog,insidethestove.Thereisnoneedtofurtherregulate
thestove;thiswillbehandledbytheautomaticsystem.Thetemperaturecanofcoursebeturnedup
ordownbyusingtheadjustmentknob(1).Byturningitcounterclockwise,combustionisminimised
andthetemperaturefalls(burningtimeisprolonged).Byturningitclockwise,combustionisincreased
andthetemperaturerises(burningtimeisshortened).Everytimeyouneedtoaddnewrewood,
waituntilthelayerofembersisagainsufcientlylow.Openthedooronlyduringlighting,re-ring
and cleaning.
Important! The necessary precautions must be taken, as the wood-burning stove’s external
surfaces and levers become hot during combustion. Using the enclosed gloves for operating
the HWAM 4410 is recommended. Please be aware that the glove that comes with the
stove can wear away the paint from the surface if the paint is not sufficiently hardened.
Firing with coal, briquettes and coke
TheHWAM4410isnotdesignedtousecoalandcoke.Youmay,however,usebriquettesplacedon
topoftherewoodembers.Turntheregulatorknobtothemaximumsettinguntilthebriquettes
glowwell.
Pleasenotethatusingothertypesoffuelthanwoodmayresultinanincreasedriskofthepane
sooting up.
