2. Second firing
Fill the combustion chamber slightly less than half way up with dry wood with diameters of between
approximately 6 – 10 cm. Light it in a similar way to the first firing – let it burn and allow the stove to
cool to room temperature before the next firing.
3. Third firing
Repeat the procedure used in the second firing, but use more wood this time. Let the fuel burn and allow
the stove to cool after the fire has gone out.
Firing (Drawing E1)
Move the regulation lever (1) all the way up (max. primary air). Put an amount of split kindling wood cor-
responding to approx. 2-3 logs (approx. 2 kg) into the stove. Put 2 firelighters between the uppermost
layers of kindling wood. Light up and allow the fire to gradually spread.
During firing, condensation may form on the inside of the glass. To prevent this, keep the door ajar until
there is no more condensation on the glass (approx. 5-10 minutes). When the kindling wood has caught
fire, bring the lever (1) back to the middle setting.
If the fire is quenched by the regulation, reset the regulation lever to the maximum setting until the fire
has caught on better. Return the regulation lever to the middle setting. Let the kindling wood burn out
completely until there are no more visible flames. You may then put in firewood.
Important! Do not open the ash pan when lighting up and always keep it closed when the stove is in
use, otherwise you may destroy the automatic control. Open the door only during lighting, re-firing and
cleaning.
Burning (Drawing E2)
When there are no more visible yellow flames and an appropriate layer of embers has formed, you may
re-fire the stove. The layer of embers is appropriate when the wood pieces fall apart and the embers
light at the shaking grate.
Put 2-3 logs of new firewood, up to 1 kg a log, inside the stove. There is no need to further regulate the
stove; this will be handled by the automatic system. However, you may adjust the temperature up and
down with the regulation lever (1). If the lever is moved to the minimum setting (lower-most position),
the combustion is reduced, and the burning time is prolonged. If the lever is moved to the maximum
setting (upper-most position), the combustion is increased and the burning time is decreased. Every time
you need to add new firewood, wait until the layer of embers is again sufficiently low.
During combustion, the outer surfaces of the stove will become hot, and due care must
therefore be shown.
Fuelling with coal, patent fuel or carbonised coal
The stove is not designed for fuelling with coal and carbonised coal. However, patent fuel can be used
to fuel the fire and should be placed on the embers produced by the burned wood. Move the regulation
lever to the maximum setting until the kindling is fully ignited.
Remember to bring the regulation lever down again.
Be aware that using fuels other than wood, will cause soot to form on the glass pane.
