Operation
6. NOTE: The design of some early DVD
players is such that you may occasionally
hear a click or pop when the player starts
after being paused or after a Search mode
is used. This is a function of the format
and does not indicate any problem with
your AVR55.
PCM Audio Playback
PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) is the
non-compressed digital audio system
used for compact discs and non-AC-3
laser discs. The digital circuits in the
AVR55 are capable of high-quality digital-
to-analog decoding, and they may be
connected directly to the digital audio
output of your CD or LV player.
Connections should be made to the
AC-3/PCM Optical or Coaxial inputs
¶fon the rear panel, using whichever
input is not occupied by an AC-3 source
such as a DVD player.
To play a PCM source, first select the
desired input using the
Input
Selectors
)$%^*de.
Next, choose either an Optical or Coaxial
digital source using the
Digital Input
Selector
hı. Finally, select any
Surround mode other than Dolby Digital.
Tuner Operation
