The Princess and the Frog
One day the little princess discovers a tiny green frog in the
royal pond. It sits on a water lily leaf and gazes vacantly into
the water.
“What are you doing there?” the princess inquires. “Oh, I
wish someone would play with me!” the frog croaks sadly.
“Hmm”, the princess ponders, “this is my beloved golden
ball. Shall we play with it?”. Overjoyed, the frog croaks “Yes,
yes!”. Since then, each day they meet each other at the royal
pond. No doubt they will carry on playing today.

Repeat the rhymes various times. Attentive listening and
observing will help your child comprehend the relation bet-
ween the spoken words and the action. Then recite and play
the rhyme together with your child.
Of course you can invent stories yourself with finger puppets
as characters. Carry out small movements accompanying
them with short sentences: For example you welcome each
other with the puppets and makeabow to each other.
Once your child is acquainted with the finger puppets, you
can try out the different game ideas. In this manner you play-
fully foster early games with rules.The game ideas can also
be played without an adult.
