2Getting to know your computer
Tablet edge components

(1)Fingerprint reader (select models only)Allows a fingerprint logon to Windows, instead of a
password logon.
(2)Vents (2)Enable airflow to cool internal components.
NOTE:The computer fan starts up automatically to cool
internal components and prevent overheating. It is normal
for the internal fan to cycle on and off during routine
operation.
(3)Webcam (rear)Records video and captures photographs. Some models
allow you to video conference and chat online using
streaming video.

Programs>Communication and Chat>HP WebCam.

Rotate lock buttonWhen the tablet is on, press the rotate lock button to lock
the autorotate feature of the display. To unlock the
autorotate feature, press the button again.

When the computer is off, slide the switch to turn on
the tablet.

the computer.

When the computer is in the Sleep state or
Hibernation, slide the switch briefly to exit Sleep or
Hibernation.
CAUTION:Pressing and holding down the power button
will result in the loss of unsaved information.
If the tablet has stopped responding and Windows®
shutdown procedures are ineffective, press and hold the
power button for at least 14 seconds to turn off the
computer.
To learn more about your power settings: Select Start>
Control Panel>System and Security>Power Options.
