PLAYABLE DISC TYPE
With this DVD recorder you can play back the following disc types:
• DVD VIDEO

• CD-RW
• AUDIO CD
• MP3 CD
• JPEG
• KODAK PICTURE CD
INSERTING A DISC
1 Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button on the front of the DVD recorder or remote control.
The disc tray opens. The dialog box shows "OPEN" icon.
2 Insert the disc carefully into the tray, with the label facing up and press "PLAY" button or
"OPEN/CLOSE" button. The dialog box shows "LOADING". The information on the disc is read.
3 Playback begins automatically.
BEFORE RECORDING
• This recorder can record on both DVD+R and DVD+RW type of disc. This recorder cannot
record on the DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-Ram, CD-R and CD-RW disc.
• This recorder record video in single speed. High speed discs such as 2x,4x or higher will not
be recorded in higher speed.
• In some cases, you may not be able to add new recordings to DVD+RWs that contain recor-
dings made on other DVD recorders.
• You cannot record both PAL and NTSC signal on a disc.
• Record failure may induced if poor quality disc is used for recording.
• to play a recorded DVD+R disc on other DVD equipment, you need to finalize the disc. For
details on finalizing, see pages27
• Any recordings made by this DVD recorder are not copy-protected.
• When a disc contains too little data, some players can not successfully calibrate the laser on
them and fail to initialize the disc.
• Some tests have indicated that the "break point" is often reached when the disc is filled for
about 1/12th of its capacity, i.e contains at least 5 minutes recorded in HQ mode, 10 minutes
SP, 15 minutes LP or 20 minutes EP mode.
