General
The GRUNDIG High-End twin receiver
STR 622 TWIN is equipped with two reception
units A and B.
With these two reception units you can:
– watch one satellite programme on a TV set and
record at the same time another programme with
a video recorder,
or
– watch two different satellite programmes on two
TV sets,
or
– record two different satellite programmes on two
video recorders.
With the universal remote control TP 820 SAT sup-
plied with the set you can control in addition to the
satellite receiver TV receivers and video recorders
of Grundig and some other renowned manufac-
turers.
The TWIN receiver provides you with many applica-
tion possibilities. In order to optimally use these
possibilities, we recommend you to carefully read
this user manual.
Being provided with an integrated three-stage
picture and sound enhancement circuit (threshold
extension/ DX), the receiver is especially suited for
the reception of very weak signals.
Contents of Delivery

Notes on the Station Table
The receiver is already preprogrammed to many

However, if you wish to alter the station order, it is
easy to do so.
For more information, see the detailed description
(see section “Station Table” on page 11).

If you want to change the parameters of a pro-
gramme position (e.g. select another sound channel
of a station), or to receive a satellite station which
has not been preprogrammed, then this can be easily
done (see chapter “The On-screen Menu Guide” on
page 11).
LNB Adjustment*
There are many different LNB’s on the market with
various oscillator frequencies. With this receiver, it
is possible to enter the oscillator frequencies of the
respective LNBs from 3000 to 12500 MHz in 1 MHz
steps.
With this procedure you avoid the inconvenient
reprogramming of each individual programme posi-
tion if you use an LNB which does not use the LNB
frequency preset at the factory.
* The terms LNB (Low Noise Block Converter) and
LNC (Low Noise Converter) have the same mean-
ing. An LNB converts the hight transmission fre-
quencies of a satellite (e.g. 11 or 12 GHz) into a
lower intermediate frequency (e.g. 1 to 2 GHz).
❒
GRUNDIG VIDEO CONTROL
It is possible to remotely control the reception unit B
by a specially prepared video recorder connected to
the VIDEO CONTROL socket. You need only pro-
gramme the programmes you want to record on the
video recorder. The satellite receiver needs not to be
programmed. Depending on the video recorder, up
to 8 different programmes can be programmed (see
page 19).
With this function, recordings right on the dot with
VPS and Show-View are also possible for SAT pro-
grammes.
