Mains operation
Check t hat t he mains voltage on t he t ype plate (on
the bottom of t he device) cor responds to your local
mains supply . If this is not the case, contact your spe-
cialist dealer .

The device is connected to the mains with the
pow er plug. To fully disconnect the device from
the mains, pull out the plug.

The mains plug is used to disconnect the device. It
shall remain readily operable and should not be
obstructed during intended use.
Inserting t he back-up batter y
During mains operation, the back-up batter y ensures
that stor ed settings are not lost in the case of a power
failure or when the device is br iefly disconnected
from the mains.
1 Open the batter y compartment lid b y pressing on
the arrow and pushing do wn t he lid.
2 Press »TUNING-/MIN « brief ly to set the min-
utes step-by-s tep or hold down to run t hrough the
minutes continuously .
Notes:

When the minute display changes from »59 « to
»00 «, this does not af fect the hour display.
▪
The device saves the set time automatically af t er
1 0 seconds.
3 To set the day of the week, press and hold
»TIME/MODE «.
– Display: for example, the day of the week »d1 «

Switching on and off
1 Press »ON/OFF « to switc h on the device from
standby mode.
2 Press »ON/OFF « to switch the de vice to standb y
mode.
Radio mode
For t he best possible FM (VHF) reception, it is suf-
ficient to align the wire antenna accordingly .
T uning t o radio st ations
1 Set the radio station by pressing » ON/OFF«.
– Keep pressing »TUNING+/HR « or
»TUNING-/MIN « until you reach the fre-
quency you want.
– Each time you press the button, the frequency
changes by 100 kHz.
Saving radio stations on program-
places
Y ou can save this radio-program on 1 0 program
places.
1 Set the radio station b y pressing and holding
down »TUNING+/HR « or »TUNING-/MIN «.
– The radio station search starts and stops at the
next station with a good reception signal;
or keep pressing »TUNING+/HR « or
»TUNING-/MIN « until you reach the fre-
quency you want.
– Each time you press the button, the frequency
changes by 100 kHz.
2 Press »PRESET « longer .
3 Select the program-place with »TUNING - /+ «.
4 Confirm with » PRESET«.
Adjusting t he volume
1 Adjus t the volume by pressing »VOLUME -/AL
1« or » VOLUME +/AL 2«.
Viewing the alarm time
1 Press »VOLUME -/AL 1« ones (for alarm time 1)
or press »VOLUME +/AL 2 « (for alarm time 2).
– Display: the last set alarm time 1 or 2, the LED
»AL 1 « or »AL 2 «.

If no other button is pressed, the device switches
back automaticall y to the current time af ter

Alarm with radio s tation
1 Press »ON/OFF « to switch on the device.
2 Select the radio station using the

4 Press »ON/OFF « to switch off t he device.
– The device wakes you up at the set time with the
radio station (alarm duration is 59 minutes).
Alarm with signal t one
1 Press »ON/OFF « to switch off t he device.
2 Set the signal tone alarm signal
(» «), and press »AL 1 « or »AL 2 « once.
– The device wakes you up at the set time with the
signal tone (alarm duration is 59 minutes).
Interrupting t he alarm
1 Press »SNOOZE « while the alarm is sounding.
– The alarm signal (radio station or signal tone)
stops.
– The alarm goes on again at
9 minute intervals (alarm duration is 59 minutes).
Cancelling the alarm f or the day
1 Press »ON/OFF « while the alarm is sounding.
– The alarm signal (radio station or signal tone)
stops, the alarm remains at the set time for the
next day.
Timer mode
The device has a sleep timer , which switches it of f in
radio mode at a preset time. The switch-of f time can
be set to between 0 minute and 90 minute and then
stays saved.
Activating the sleep timer
1 Press and hold »SLEEP « to switch on the device.
– Display: the switch-off time »0:59 « (for 59 min-
utes).
– You will hear the selected radio station.
2 Set the selected switch-of f time wit h
»SLEEP « step-by-step (press briefly).
– After the selected switch-off time has elapsed,
the device switches off automatically.
3 Display t he remaining switch-of f time with press
and hold »SLEEP «.
Deactivating the sleep timer
1 To deactivate the sleep timer ear ly , press
»ON/OFF «.
– The device switches to stand-by.

The device realize t he switch-of f time and offer
this time for the next using like a pr eselection.
BLUET OOTH MODE
Bluetoot h device compatibility
Your Sonoclock 2500 BT connects with all Bluetooth
devices that support the A2DP profile including the
most smartphones, laptops and tablets.
Selecting the in put source Bluetoot h
1 Select the input source Bluetooth wit h
»TIME/MODE «.
– Display: »BT « flash.
Pairing Bluetooth device
1 Activate on the Bluetoot h device the Bluetoot h
function.
2 St ar t on the Bluetooth device the search function.
– After a short period of time, your Grundig So-
noclock 2500 is displayed on the Bluetooth
device.
3 Select the Grundig Sonoclock 2500 on the
Bluetooth device and connect it.
2 When inser ting the batter y (micro batteries, 2 x
1 .5 V , LR3/ UM 4/ AAA), observe the polarit y
marked on the base of the batter y compar tment.
Note:

Remove the back -up battery when it is flat or when
you know that the device will not be used for a
long period of time.

Batter ies, including t hose which do not contain
heavy metal, should not be disposed of with
household waste. Always dispose of used batter-

SETTINGS
Setting time and day of t he week
If the device has been switched on for the first time
– »0:00 « appears in the display as a sign that the
time has to be set. The same applies after a power
failure or if the device has been disconnected fr om
the mains supply and no back-up battery has been
inser ted.

step-by-step or hold down to run t hrough the

4 Once the Bluetooth de vice is connected to your
device, the Sonoclock 2500 BT will display

Note:

Although the Sonoclock 2500 BT can only stream
audio from one device at a time, it is capable of
being paired with up to eight devices.
Connecting a paired Bluetoot h Device
Notes:
▪
Y ou will only need to pair your Bluetoot h device
with the unit one time.
▪
The next time your Bluetoot h device and the So-
noclock 2500 BT are in range of each other, and
the Bluetooth feature is turned on, they will auto-
matically connect.
▪
The Sonoclock 2500 BT will only automatically
connect to the last Blue tooth Device it was con-
nected to.
▪
If your paired device does not automatically con-
nect, navigate to the Bluetoot h menu on your de-
vice and select the unit from the list.
▪

Play A udio signal from your Bluetoo th

1 Star t playback on the Blue tooth Device.
2 Adjust the volume using »VOLUME - / + «.
3 End playback on the Bluetooth Device.

Various functions may also be controlled
from the Sonoclock 2500 BT. Select Play-
back-P ause using »TUNING - « , press
»TUNING + « again to resume playback; select
pre vious title by pressing »r «, select next title by
pressing »e «.

Keep in mind t hat depending on t he used Blue-
tooth device and t he s tructual conditions the wire-
less range can be up to 9 m.
Disconnect the Bluet ooth device
4 Switch off the Bluetooth function at the Bluetooth

Thunderstorms are a danger to
all electrical devices. Even if t he
device is switched of f, it can be
damaged by a lightning strike to
the mains cable.
Alway s disconnect the mains
cable during a stor m.
▪
If malfunctions occur due to
static electricit y c harges or br ief
mains voltage surges, reset the
device. T o do this, pull out the
mains adapter and connect it
again af ter a few seconds.
▪
Mak e sure the device is ade-
quately ventilated. Do not cover
the ventilation slots wit h newspa-
pers, table cloths, cur t ains, etc.
Reconnecting the Bluetoot h device
1 If you move out of range or turn of f the Bluetooth
feature on your device, the unit will disconnect
from y our device.
2 To reconnect, simply access the Bluetoot h
Manager on your Bluetooth device and select
the Grundig Sonoclock 2500.
Note:
▪
In case of the registered Grundig Sonoclock
2500 cannot connect to the Bluetooth device
again, please remo ve t he Grundig Sonoclock
2500 from the Bluetooth device list, search and
connect again.
Automatic shutdown
If Bluetooth is selected as input source and no
Bluetooth device is connected, t he Sonoclock 2500
BT switches automatically to Stand-by mode af ter 1 5
minutes.
