Selecting stereo/two-channel, mono
If the DVD has a two-channel audio in Dolby Digital format on it,
such as a feature film, with the original sound on audio channel 1
and the dubbed version on audio channel 2, you can select the
audio channel you would like.
1 Select »Dolby Digital« with »P+« or »P–« and activate with
»
OK«.
2 Select »Dual mono« with »P+« or »P–« and activate by press-
ing »
OK«.
3 Select the audio channel (»Stereo«, »L-Mono«, »R-Mono« or
»Mix-Mono«) with »
P+« or »P–« and press »OK« to confirm.
4 Press »i« to close the menu.
Switching the dynamic range (volume range) on
and off
Dolby Digital soundtracks have a very large dynamic volume
range, hence there is a great difference in volume between quiet
and loud tones. When played at high volume this can be a fasci-
nating experience, which may however cause disturbance late at
night.
Simply reducing the volume does not produce pleasing results, and
the dialogue becomes difficult to understand. You need to turn
down the louder sounds and turn up the quieter passages, while re-
taining the volume of the dialogue.
1 Select »Dolby Digital« with »P+« or »P–« and activate with
»
OK«.
2 Select »Dynamic« with »P+« or »P–« and activate by pressing
»
OK«.
3 Select the dynamic range with »P+« or »P–« and activate with
»
OK«.
Note:
If the controller is set to »OFF«, the setting is switched off.
4 Press »i« to close the menu.
