Switching on and off
1 Press »

STANDBY« to switch on the device from standby mode.
– The last input source used is automatically selected.
2 Press »
Ǽ
STANDBY« to switch the device to standby mode.
– Display: briefly, »OFF«.
Selecting the input source
1 Select the input source with »RADIO/TAPE/CD« on the device or
»SOURCE« on the remote control.
Adjusting the volume
1 Adjust the volume with »VOLUME +
–
« (scale from »0« to »32«).
Setting the equaliser
1 With the device switched on, press »EQ« on the device or »EQUALIZER«
on the remote control.
– Display: e.g. »0« and »BASS«.
2 Repeatedly press »EQ« on the device or »EQUALIZER« on the remote
control to select the setting.
– Display: e.g. »0« and »MID«, »BASS« or »TREBLE«.
Note:
If you do not press any button within 10 seconds, the device will
automatically quit this mode.
3 Select the desired values with »R-SKIP
8« or »F-SKIP 9«
(max. »+5«, min. »-5«).
– The equaliser display disappears after 3 seconds.
Activating the Ultra Bass System
This function boosts the bass frequencies.
1 Press »UBS« on the remote control to switch the Ultra Bass System on
or off
or
Hold down »SURROUND/U.B.S.« on the device to switch the Ultra
Bass System on or off.
Activating Surround Sound
This function activates the surround sound.
1 Press »SURROUND SOUND« to switch the surround sound on or off.
Listening with headphones

Connect the headphones to the headphones socket »

« (on the left side
of the device)(ø 3.5 mm).
– This automatically switches off the loudspeakers.
