Programme types (PTY)
Many FM stations provide the Programme Type
(PTY) service. The PTY function enables you to
automatically tune to stations broadcasting a
particular type of programme, for example POP.
The programme type information broadcast by
a station can change according to the current
programme.
The programme types can be displayed in the
languages: GB, D, F and I. You can make your
selection at the EXPERT level (see page 13).

Affairs Politics and current affairs
Info Specialised talk programmes
Sport Sports programmes
Educate Educational programmes
Drama Radio plays and literature
Culture Culture, religion and society
Science Science programmes
Varied Entertainment
Pop M Pop music (hit parade)
Rock M Rock music
Easy M Easy listening
Selecting the programme type
(PTY)
1 Press the upper soft key until PTY appears
in the display.
2 Use the rocker switch to select the pro-
gramme type you want to hear, e.g. POP M.
– Display: »POP« briefly, followed by the
station name.
Note:
If no station is broadcasting the selected pro-
gramme type you will hear the last station
you selected and the PTY function is
deactivated.
3 Start the PTY search with the lower soft key
(GO).
4 PTYs can be stored on the memory buttons
(page 8).
Deactivating PTY
1 Press the upper soft key, leave the func-
tion, and select the IS basic function.
