• Always keep the appliance in sufficient distance to the edge of the
table or counter and to other objects. For operation, leave at least 1 m
of free space above the appliance and at least 20 cm of free space
on each side, to avoid damage due to steam and hot water. Do not
operate the appliance under overhanging boards and drop-lights or
near any delicate objects (e.g. curtains, decorations).
• This appliance may be used or handled by persons (including children
from 8 years and above) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety. Even cleaning may not be
performed by children without supervision. Children must always be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance or
any parts of the appliance or the packaging. Always keep the appli-
ance where it is dry, frost-free, and clean, and where young children
cannot reach it. Do not leave the appliance or any part of it unatten-
ded, when in reach of young children.
• The appliance is heated electrically. Do not place the appliance or
any part of it on or near hot surfaces (e.g. burner, heater, or oven).
Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight for an elongated time.
Do not handle the appliance or any part of it with violence.
• Only use clear drinking water for operating the appliance. For de-
calcifying, use white vinegar. Do not fill in any other liquids or food to
avoid injuries and damage due to fire, electric shock, and high tem-
peratures. Do not fill in more than the maximum amount (80 millilitres,
upper grading line on the measuring cup). If the heating bowl is over-
filled, boiling water may run out.
• The appliance is very light in weight. Hold the appliance at the bot-
tom of the housing for pressing the ON/OFF button, to avoid tipping
over the appliance. Always switch OFF the appliance (pressing the
ON/OFF button), unplug and wait for the appliance to cool down
completely, before cleaning the appliance and when the appliance
is not in use. Do not use any hard or sharp-edged objects with the
appliance (e.g. knives, scrapers).
