TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the lid from the jug during operation to avoid food splashing
and overflowing. Use the central opening of the lid to add further ingredients.
Only use plastic cooking utensils without any hard and sharp edges to avoid damaging the
cutting blades or jug.
• If the volume within the jug is below the maximum line with the motor agitating, the inner
measuring cup can be removed from the lid and further ingredients can be poured through
the opening in the lid during operation.
• Run the Design Mixer only for the required time duration. Do not over blend ingredients.
• Caution should be taken, if blending large volumes or thin liquids, as splashing may occur
through the measuring cup area of the lid.
• Use the PULSE button, if your food is too thick or coarse to mix up.
• Do not exceed the maximum filling mark when adding foods and liquids into the jug.
• Ingredients could stick to the sides of the jug. To push food back onto the cutting blades,
turn the Design Mixer off (press ON/OFF button) and unplug at the wall. Use a plastic spatula
to scrape down the ingredients at the sides of the jug. Ensure to close the lid securely, before
re-starting operation.
• If any moisture or liquid appears on or under the power base during operation,
IMMEDIATELY turn the appliance OFF (press ON/OFF button) and unplug from the power
supply. Immediately remove the jug and wipe the power base dry with a dry cloth or paper
towel. Do not use the appliance again without having cleared up, whether the jug is leaking
and, if so, having replaced the jug.
• To stop processing at any time, press the CANCEL button. This holds for the SMOOTHIE
program as well.
• A speed or function can be selected at any time, even while the motor is running. The
appliance will change operation immediately.
• The maximum amount of ice cubes that the appliance can process is 8-10 cubes from a
standard ice tray.
• Thicker mixtures puree more efficiently, if you fill in not more than 300 to 700 ml (¼ to ½).
Do not fill in more than 2 cups (300 - 400 ml) at a time, when blending lukewarm ingredients.
• Select the blending speeds and PULSE function according to the foods being processed.
On demand, combine various settings.
• Using the SMOOTHIE function for blending fruits, ice cream and yogurts you get thick
smoothies, whips, and milk shakes.
• Use the PULSE function for foods that only require short bursts of power, such as chopping
nuts and crushing ice. Thus, use PULSE, when blending drinks with ice cubes or frozen fruit.
• If the motor is straining under a heavy load, do not operate continuously for more than 10
seconds. For normal blending tasks, do not blend longer than 1 minute at a time. Allow the
motor to rest for 15 minutes. This will protect the motor from wear and tear.
• The appliance will NOT knead dough or mash potatoes.
• Do NOT process hot or boiling ingredients. Allow cooked food to cool down to a
