Depending on your computer operating system, the device
appears as either a portable device, a removable drive, or a
removable volume.

On your computer, open the file browser.

Select a file.

Select Edit > Copy.

Browse to a folder on the device.
NOTE: For a removable drive or volume, you should not
place files in the Garmin folder.

Select Edit > Paste.
Disconnecting the USB Cable
If your device is connected to your computer as a removable
drive or volume, you must safely disconnect your device from
your computer to avoid data loss. If your device is connected to
your Windows computer as a portable device, it is not necessary
to safely disconnect.

Complete an action:
• For Windows computers, select the Safely Remove
Hardware icon in the system tray, and select your device.
• For Mac computers, drag the volume icon to the trash.

Disconnect the cable from your computer.
Deleting Files
NOTICE
If you do not know the purpose of a file, do not delete it. Your
device memory contains important system files that should not
be deleted.

Open the Garmin drive or volume.

If necessary, open a folder or volume.

Select a file.

Press the Delete key on your keyboard.
Customizing the Device
Map and Vehicle Settings
Select Settings > Map & Vehicle.
Vehicle: Changes the icon to represent your position on the
map. Go to http://www.garmingarage.com for more icons.
Driving Map View: Sets the perspective on the map.
Map Detail: Sets the level of detail on the map. More detail may
cause the map to draw slower.
Map Theme: Changes the color of the map data.
Map Buttons: Sets which icons are included on the map. Up to
two icons can be included on the map.
Map Layers: Sets the data that appears on the map page
(Customizing the Map Layers).
Dashboards: Sets the map dashboard layout.
myMaps: Sets which installed maps the device uses.
Enabling Maps
You can enable map products installed on your device.
TIP: To purchase additional map products, go to
www.garmin.com/us/maps.

Select Settings > Map & Vehicle > myMaps.

Select a map.
Navigation Settings
Select Settings > Navigation.
Calculation Mode: Sets route preference.
Off-Route Recalculation: Sets how your device recalculates a
route if you deviate from the route.
Avoidances: Sets road features to avoid on a route.
Custom Avoidances: Allows you to avoid specific roads or
areas.
Advanced Detours: Sets the length of the detour.
Safe Mode: Disables all functions that require significant
operator attention and could become a distraction while
driving.
GPS Simulator: Stops the device from receiving a GPS signal,
and saves battery power.
Calculation Mode
Select Settings > Navigation > Calculation Mode.
The route calculation is based on road speeds and vehicle
acceleration data for a given route.
Faster Time: Calculates routes that are faster to drive but can
be longer in distance.
Shorter Distance: Calculates routes that are shorter in distance
but can take more time to drive.
Off Road: Calculates a direct line from your location to your
destination.
Curvy Roads: Calculates routes that prefer curvy roads.
NOTE: This feature is not available on all device models.
Display Settings
To open the Display settings page, from the main menu, select
Settings > Display.
Color Mode: Changes the brightness of the screen. Decreasing
the brightness can save battery power.
Display Timeout: Sets the amount of idle time before your
device enters sleep mode.
Brightness: Adjusts the display brightness.
Screenshot: Allows you to take a picture of the device screen.
Screenshots are saved in the Screenshot folder of the
device storage.
Bluetooth Settings
Select Settings > Bluetooth.
Bluetooth: Enables Bluetooth wireless technology.
Scan for Devices: Scans for nearby Bluetooth devices.
Friendly Name: Allows you to enter a friendly name that
identifies your device on other devices with Bluetooth
wireless technology.
Disabling Bluetooth

Select Settings > Bluetooth.

Traffic Settings
To open the traffic settings page, from the main menu, select
Settings > Traffic.
Traffic: Enables traffic.
Subscriptions: Lists current traffic subscriptions.
trafficTrends: See trafficTrends™.

You can purchase additional subscriptions or a renewal if your
subscription expires. Go to http://www.garmin.com/traffic.
Viewing Traffic Subscriptions
Select Settings > Traffic > Subscriptions.

  • Beste Garmin Zumo 390 bezitters Mijn 390 LM interne geheugen raakt vol, ik een Kingston 32 gb kaarte gekocht V10 en in het toestel geplaatst. Ik kan er wel route's opzetten via de computer en met Base Camp op de externe geheugenkaart (Kingston) maar kan ze niet oproepen op de Zumo , alleen route's die op het interne geheugen staan. Wat doe ik verkeerd ? Graag hoor ik van iemand . Alvast bedankt, Ruud Gesteld op 30-6-2021 om 20:06

  • Zumo 390 lm gaat direct uit na starten met volle accu als hij “ los” staat . Aangesloten aan 220 V of motor geen probleem maar als contact uitstaat ,ieder keer weer opnieuw starten. Gesteld op 5-5-2021 om 12:21

  • Mijn Zumo 390 valt regelmatig uit op de motor. Ik krijg wel de tekst dat deze in een aantal aflopende seconden zichzelf gaat afsluiten. Wanneer ik dit op tijd zie, kan ik dit nog annuleren, maar na enkele minuten gaat dit riedeltje opnieuw aan. Ik heb de contactpunten al ingespoten met contactspray; helpt iets, maar niet voldoende.     • Ik heb hetzelfde probleem. De aansluitkabel en garmin zijn onder garantie vervangen. Hetzelfde probleem doet zich nu echter weer voor. Ik spuit de contactpunten, op aangeven van Waypoint, regelmatig in maar ook dat heeft het probleem niet voorkomen. Geantwoord op 18-6-2018 om 14:35

      Wordt er helemaal gek van
      Nieuwe steun geprobeerd en nieuwe kabels en telkens weer hetzelfde probleem

  • Hoe zet ik een Zumo 390lm terug in fabrieks instelling ? na al een update naar 2017 te hebben gedaan ,de funtie Bleu tooht werkt niet meer nu !!!

    • Er gebeurd hier niet veel van uit Garmin !!!!! dus klanten blijven op hun vragen om hulp zitten fijn zal zeker mijn laatste Garmin zijn moet toch weer terug naar Tom Tom overgaan daar is tenminste nog steun te vinden met onze vragen als klanten W
