Possible Cause Solution
The Pump does not
start, or pump water
Pump is not connected to the
power supply
Float switch has not been activated,
water level too low
The impellor is stuck
The thermal overload protection
is activated
The motor is damaged
Check that the Pump is connected to the mains
power supply
Manually raise the position of the float switch
Turn Pump off at the mains power supply and

The Pump does not sup-
ply water when the motor
is running
Priming vent blocked
The base is obstructed/blocked
Air lock in the hose/tube and/or Pump
(air bubbles)
Discharge hose/tube (not included)
is kinked or damaged
Clean the Priming vent
Turn Pump off at the mains power supply and clean
the base of any foreign matter and debris
Perform several start-ups in order to remove all the
air or re prime Pump
Un-kink the discharge hose/tube.
Or replace hose/tube. Turn Pump o at the mains
power supply and check the discharge outlet and
filter for any foreign matter
The Pump flow rate is
reduced
Check the discharge point
height.
Pump is not primed.
The base is partially obstructed/blocked
The hose/tube is obstructed
Incorrect assembly leads to air and
water leakage in the discharge lines
Prime the Pump using the method described on page 15
Turn Pump off at the mains power supply and clean
the base of any foreign matter and debris
Remove the obstructions
Reduce the height of the discharge point. Note: the
lower the discharge point, the faster the flow rate
Ensure the discharge lines are the correct length
and all assembly instructions are adhered to
Pump will not turn off,
even though the water
level is low
The float switch is stuck in the “on” position Ensure that the float switch is free to operate
normally. Contact customer service if the problem
still occurs.
Tilt the float downward to the vertical position.
If Pump continues to operate, turn OFF at the mains
power supply and take Pump to service centre.
Hose/tube does not stay
on the adaptor when
water is travelling through
The hose/tube is slightly wider than the dimen-
sion of the adaptor
Use a hose clamp to secure the drain hose to
the fitting.
Fit correct size pipe and use a hose clamp.
The Pump operates
intermittently
The base is obstructed/blocked
Incorrect voltage is being used
The fluid contains particles thicker
than 20mm
The motor is faulty or damaged
Turn Pump off at the mains power supply and clean
the base of any foreign matter and debris
Ensure the Pump is connected into 230-240V power
supply
Note: This submersible Pump must be used with
a residual current device with a rated residual
current of 30mA or less.
(This device is not supplied and can generally be
purchased from your local Hardware store)
Residual Current Devices are available for purchase
online at www.extrabattery.com.au
