d. When refuelling, wipe off any spilled fuel thoroughly with a dry cloth.
e. After refuelling, tighten the fuel filler cap and move the device about 3m from the
place of refuelling before starting the engine.
TRANSPORT
a. During transport, it is imperative that the enclosed protective cover or other suitable
protective coverings be used.
b. When transporting the device in vehicles, make sure that it cannot tip over during
transport.
c. If the device is transported over long distances or in vehicles, the fuel tank must be
emptied beforehand to prevent fuel spillage throughout transport.
WORKING CONDITIONS
a. Wear suitable clothing and protective equipment when working with this device:
(1) A safety helmet (when working on sloping grounds, you
must wear a helmet).
(2) Safety goggles or face shield
(3) Firm protective gloves
(4) Non-slip work shoes
(5) Hearing protection (in particular for long-term work)
b. The following must also be carried:
(1) Combination tool
(2) Fuel for refilling
(3) Spare cutting blade (if available)
(4) Ropes, warning signs, etc. for marking the working area.
(5) Whistle (for communication with employees and for
emergencies)
(6) Axe or saw (to remove obstacles)
c. No loose clothing, jewellery or short trousers. Do not work in sandals or barefoot.
BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE
a. Check device for loose fastenings and leaking fuel. Check cutting tools for proper
mounting and tightness. In particular the cutting blade of the tool and its connecting
part must be checked properly.
b. The cutting blade can only be used if it is ensured that there are no cracks or bends
in the cutting blade. Damaged cutting blades must not be used under any
circumstances.
c. Only use sharp cutting blades.
d. To avoid chipping of the cutting blades, grind the corners of the blade to a round
