Saw chain
To ensure safe and proper operation, the saw
teeth must always be sharp.
The saw teeth must be filed down when:
- the sawdust assumes a powdery state
- additional force is required for the cut
- a straight cut is no longer possible
- the vibrations become stronger
- the fuel consumption rises
Instructions for filing the saw teeth:
Always wear safety gloves.
Before filing:
- Make sure the saw-chain is securely fastened.
- Make sure that the engine is switched off
- Be sure to use a round file with the size
suitable for the chain:
FX-KS126: 3/8 pitch / 1.3mm groove width
See detailed information under technical data
Place the file on the saw tooth and press it
forward in a straight line after. Keep the
position of the file as shown in the illustration.
After each saw tooth has been refiled, place a depth gauge on top and refile
the saw teeth to the correct size.
Make sure that the front edges are rounded to reduce the risk of kickback or
tearing of the retaining straps.
