12 Initial operation
12.1 Checking the kettle and the
scope of delivery
If you open the packaging
imprudently with a sharp knife or
other pointed object, the kettle
can be damaged.
• Take the kettle out of the
packing.
• Check whether the scope of
delivery is complete.
• Check whether the kettle or
the individual parts show signs
of damage.
If this is the case do not use the
kettle. Contact the service
address specified.
12.2 Setting up the kettle
• Remove all protective films.
• Unwind the mains cable
completely from the cable
holder.
• Guide the cable through the
recess for the mains cable
• Place the base on an even,
stable surface.
• Place the water container on
the base.
• Insert the mains plug into a
socket with safety contacts.
