Measuring F unc tion for the D evic e
This device receiv es a signal via GPS, and measures distance and pace. T o make sure measurements
are performed accurately , try to use the device under the following conditions which allow f or easy
reception of GPS signals .

If it takes more than t wo minutes or Faile d is displa yed, we recommend sel ecting
Cancel, moving to a diere nt location, an d tr ying again.
When the measurement scr een is displayed, you can start measuring. "7. Measuring Time,

When using the d evice for the rst time or wh en the device has not be en used fo r
several months, connec t to the GPS net work for at least 1 5 minutes with no
obstructio ns overhead. This a llows the device to calibrate for more p recise
measurements.

1. Connect th e cradle using one of the f ollowing metho ds.
»Using a PC
Connec t th e cradle ’ s USB pl ug to the comp uter ’s USB port .
This is not guar anteed to wor k with all compu ters. D o not use a USB hub. Instead , connec t the
cradle di rec tly to the computer .
»Using the AC adap ter
Connec t th e cradle ’ s USB pl ug to the AC adapte r ’ s USB po r t.
We recommend using t he optio nal AC adapter (Model N o.: SF AC 02 Conti / SF AC03 UK). If you
do not use a sup por te d AC adapter , you may not be ab le to charge or it may not o perate
correctly .
2. Place the device in to the cradle.
Check that th e contac t point s on the dev ice are pointin g up and match the contac t mar k s on
the cradle . Af ter placin g the devi ce into the bot tom of the cradle , push c arefull y on the top of
the devi ce until it is xed in place.
When th e device is pla ced correc tl y , the alar m sounds , the charging s creen is disp layed, and
charging star t s.
3. When charging is c omplete, remov e the device from the cradle .
When th e followin g charging icon is disp layed, charging is comp lete. Hol d the cradle and
press the d evice down into the lower p ar t of the cradle to releas e the pro duc t.
4. F ollow the on-screen instructions to set the Language , Units , and user informa tion.
5. When you ar e in a location with no obstructions overhead, select Ye s .
A signal is recei ved from th e GPS and tim e is automaticall y syn chronise d.
When you leave the device for a whi le, it ente rs sleep status an d the time displa y turns
o. This is not a malfu nction a s the display i s restored the ne x t time you move the
device. If time sy nchronisation fails , continue to the ne x t step. The time screen w ill
automatically b e update d the nex t time a G PS signal has b een received.
Charge this device befo re using it for the rst time.

What is the Chronogr aph func tion ?
This function allows you to measur e split times and lap times simultaneously.
Y ou can record the laps by pr essing button on the device during Chronograph measur ement, or by
using the A T lap function.
Measuring
1. Press to star t measuring.
2. T o recor d a lap, press while measuring.
3. Press again to stop rec ording.
4. Press and hold for a few sec onds when you have nished r ecording to reset the
measurement display .
• The Chronograph scr een is composed of four screens, and you can change the scr een display by pressing
. Y ou can change the content displayed on screens 1 to 4 b y changing Measure set. > Screen . F or more
details, see the User Manual.
• After resetting, pr ess and hold or for a few seconds to return to the time scr een.
• If no operations are made for 60 minutes on a scr een other than the measuring screen, the time screen is
displayed.
• As well as the Chronogr aph func tion, there are a variety of other measurement functions. Please see full
User Manual for details.
