t Wash the lter using liquid dishwashing
detergent and warm water. Rinse lter
thoroughly. Gently shake excess water
from the lter. Be sure lter is thoroughly
dry before replacing.
t Or, instead of washing you may vacuum
the lter clean.
7.2 Cabinet Cleaning
t Be sure to unplug the air conditioner
to prevent shock or re hazard. The
cabinet and front may be dusted with
an oil-free cloth or washed with a cloth
dampened in a solution of warm water
and mild liquid dishwashing detergent.
Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.
t Never use harsh cleaners, wax or polish
on the cabinet front.
t Be sure to wring excess water from
the cloth before wiping around the
controls. Excess water in or around the
controls may cause damage to the air
conditioner.
7.3 Winter Storage
t If you plan to store the appliance during
the winter, cover it with plastic or return
it to its carton.
t For the model which with accessory
of storage cover, use it directly for the
appliance storage.
8. BEFORE YOU CALL
Air conditioner will not operate.
t Wall plug disconnected. Push plug
rmly into wall outlet.
t Plug Current Device Tripped. Press the
RESET button.
t House fuse blown or circuit breaker
tripped. Replace fuse with time delay
type or reset circuit breaker.
t Control is OFF. Turn Control ON and set
to desired setting.
t P1 appears in the display window.
Drain water as described in Drainage
Section.
t Shut off in Heat mode. When the air
outlet exceeds 70 °C (158 °F), the
automatic heat protection engages.
Romove any blockages and let
appliance cool down.
t Room Temperature lower than the set
temperature (Cool Mode). Reset the
temperature.
t Room Temperature higher than the set
temperature (Heat Mode). Reset the
temperature.
Air from unit does not feel cold
enough.
t Room temperature below 16 °C (60°F).
Cooling may not occur until room
temperature rises above 16 °C (60 °F).
t Reset to a lower temperature.
t Compressor shut-off by changing
modes. Wait approximately 3 minutes
and listen for compressor to restart
when set in the COOL mode.
Air conditioner cooling, but room is
too warm - NO ice forming on cooling
coil behind decorative front.
t Outdoor temperature below 16 °C
(60°F). To defrost the coil, set FAN
ONLY mode.
t Air lter may be dirty. Clean lter. Refer
to Care and Cleaning section. To
defrost, set to FAN ONLY mode.
t Temperature is set too low for night-
time cooling. To defrost the coil,
set to FAN ONLY mode. Then, set
temperature to a higher setting.
t Exhaust duct not connected or
blocked. See EXHAUSTING HOT AIR
Section.
Air conditioner cooling, but room is
too warm - ice forming on cooling coil

t Dirty air lter - air restricted. Clean
air lter. Refer to Care and Cleaning
section.
t Temperature is set too high. Set
temperature to a lower setting.
