6. Operation
After each heating phase of max. 12 seconds,
the device must be switched off for at least 48
seconds. That means that the soldering gun may
only be used when it is switched off.
Ensure that the parts you wish to solder are
clean. Clean the parts beforehand with steel
wool or fine abrasive paper.
Ensure that the soldering gun is coated with tin.
If necessary coat it using the soldering wire
supplied. Never clean the soldering tip with a file.
Wipe down the soldering tip with a silicon sponge
and then coat the soldering tip with tin.
Heat the soldering point and not the solder.
Touch the parts you wish to solder with the
soldering tip so that both parts are heated
uniformly. Add a little tin solder to the soldering
point.
Move the soldering gun carefully and quickly
without moving the parts you wish to solder.
Do not use too much solder. Only use as much
tin solder as is absolutely necessary.
Electrical and electronic components must not be
overheated.
If you wish to solder wires together, the ends
should be coated with tin first. Twist the cores
together, heat them and add a little tin solder.
You can repair items made of thermoplastic
(childrenʼs toys) using the plastic tip.
The normal soldering tip can be used for fire art
on wood and leather.
