INITIAL OPERATION
• When you use your appliance for the first time, pour fresh water into the water tank and
switch on the appliance (without coffee).
• Once all the water has passed through, switch the appliance off and let it cool down.
When it is cold enough, repeat the process with fresh water. Repeat this process 3 times.
PREPARATION OF COFFEE
• Open the lid of the water tank and the filter holder.
• Pour the desired amount of water into the water tank. Make sure not to overfill by filling
maximum 8 cups of water (do not exceed the “MAX” indication on the water tank). The
number of cups can be read from the water level indicator.
• Use the permanent filter or insert a paper filter (size 4) in the filter holder and add the
desired quantity of ground coffee (1 teaspoon per cup, approximately 6g).
Please note:
fold the bottom and the side edges of the paper filter in such a way that it fits perfectly in
the filter holder.
• Never forget to close the lid before switching on your coffee maker.
• Put the thermos flask with closed lid on the supporting plate.
• Switch on the coffee maker by putting the switch in position “I”. The pilot light of the switch
will be illuminated, indicating that your appliance is in use. When all the water has run
through, put the switch in position “0” to switch off the appliance.
• The thermos flask allows you to keep the coffee warm for a certain time.
• When the brewing process is over, remove the thermos flask from the supporting plate (the
drip stop will prevent dripping) and pour out the desired amount of coffee, keeping the
lever of the trickle-through lid pressed down.
FILTER HOLDER
• If you want to remove the filter holder, you have to put the
handle of the filter holder in upright position in order to release it.
• Then you can lift the filter holder out of the appliance and clean
it.
• To put the filter holder back into the appliance, proceed in
reverse order.
DESCALING AND CLEANING
• We advise you to descale the coffee maker to prolong its life span. For descaling, only use
products especially made to descale coffee makers and follow their instruction manual.
Then rinse the appliance twice with fresh water, without coffee powder. Guarantee claims
will not be accepted for appliances that have not been descaled.
• Never use a dishwasher to clean the jug. Just clean it in soapsuds.
• To clean the plastic parts of the appliance, use a damp, non-abrasive cloth.
PRACTICAL HINTS
When you notice that the coffee making process is longer than it should be, it is probably time
to decalcify the appliance. Do not wait until the situation gets worse. The descaling frequency
depends on the amount of lime in water and therefore can be different from family to family.
