Please take care that the glass jug is standing on the plate correctly.
When the glass jug is taken from the plate, a valve will close automatically to prevent the
coffee from dripping onto the hotplate. When the jug is put back on the plate, the non-drip
valve will open again and allow any remaining coffee to filter through into the jug.
Wait in order to let the coffee in the filter flow totally.
To switch off the appliance, press the „ON/OFF“ key (5) once. The red indicator lamp (4) will go
out, indicating that the coffee maker is switched off.
Otherwise the coffee maker will switch off automatically after approximately 2 hours.
KEEPING THE COFFEE WARM
The integrated hotplate will keep the coffee warm automatically until the appliance is
switched off or until it switches off automatically after approximately 2 hours.
INITIAL OPERATION
• When you use your appliance for the first time, pour fresh water into the water tank and
switch on the appliance (without coffee).
• Once all the water has passed through, switch the appliance off and let it cool down.
When it is cold enough, repeat the process with fresh water. Repeat this process 3 times.
DESCALING AND CLEANING
• We advise you to descale the coffee maker to
prolong its life span. For descaling, only use
products especially made to descale coffee
makers and follow their instruction manual. Then
rinse the appliance twice with fresh water,
without coffee powder. Guarantee claims will
not be accepted for appliances that have not
been descaled.
• Never use a dishwasher to clean the jug. Just
clean it in soapsuds. The lid is detachable; raise
the lid out of its hinge – on the left side first (from
the point of view of the person who holds the
jug).
• To clean the plastic parts of the appliance, use a
damp, non-abrasive cloth.
PRACTICAL HINTS
When you notice that the coffee making process is longer than it should be, it is probably time
to decalcify the appliance. Do not wait until the situation gets worse. The descaling frequency
depends on the amount of lime in the water and therefore can be different from family to
family.
