• When making parameter settings, the display will return to the
regular condition several seconds after the last button was
pressed and the setting will be completed.

Press and hold in the SURROUND PARAMETER
button to select the parameter you want to set.

Display the parameter you want to adjust, then
turn the SELECT knob to set it.
The parameters which can be set differ for the different
surround modes are displayed. (Refer to “Surround modes
and parameters” ( page 53).)
When turned counterclockwise:
To select the surround mode while adjusting the surround
parameters, tone defeat or tone control, press the
SURROUND MODE button, then operate the selector.

ROOM SIZE:
This sets the size of the sound field.
There are five settings: “small”, “med.s” (medium-small),
“medium”, “med.l” (medium-large) and “large”. “small”
recreates a small sound field, “large” a large sound field.
EFFECT LEVEL:
This sets the strength of the surround effect.
The level can be set in 15 steps from 1 to 15. Lower the level
if the sound seems distorted.
DELAY TIME:
The delay time can be set within the range of 0 to 110 ms only
in the matrix mode.
TONE CONTROL:
This can be set individually for each surround mode except
PURE DIRECT and DIRECT.
