continue heating the milk (Fig. 13). Then, when the
desired temperature has been reached (the
optimum temperature is 60°C), close by rotating
the steam knob in a clockwise direction (Fig. 12)
and turn off the steam switch.
7. Pour the frothed milk into the cups containing the
espresso coffees that were prepared in advance.
The cappuccino is now ready; add sugar as
desired and, as an extra option, sprinkle a little
powdered chocolate on the top of the froth.
IMPORTANT: always clean the cappuccino nozzle
after use. Proceed as follows:
1. By turning the steam knob (Fig. 12), allow a little
steam to come out for a few seconds.
3. Unscrew the cappuccino nozzle by turning it in a
clockwise direction (Fig. 14) and wash it thoroughly
with tepid water.
5. Check that the three holes in the cappuccino nozzle
(shown in Fig. 15) are not plugged. If necessary,
use a pin to clean them.
7. Clean the steam delivery tube, being careful not to
burn yourself.
9. Screw the cappuccino nozzle back on.
PRODUCING HOT WATER
1. Turn on the appliance by pressing the “on/off”
switch (Fig. 2) and wait until the “OK” pilot light
comes on (Fig. 4).
2. Position a container under the cappuccino nozzle.
3. Press the coffee delivery switch (Fig. 5) and, at the
same time, rotate the steam knob in an anti-
clockwise direction (Fig. 12); water will come out
from the cappuccino nozzle.
4. To stop the flow of hot water, turn the steam knob in
a clockwise direction and press the coffee delivery
switch.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Before any cleaning or maintenance operation,
turn off the appliance, let it cool down and detach
the plug from the mains.
2. Never use solvents or abrasive detergents in
cleaning the appliance. A soft, moist cloth is
sufficient.
3. Clean the following parts on a regular basis: the
filter holder, the drip-tray, the water tank and the
hot water drip spout. Do not wash the filter holder
in the dishwasher.
4. Never immerse the unit in water – it is an electrical
appliance.
5. From time to time, check that the small holes in the
two coffee filters are not plugged. If necessary,
clean the filters thoroughly using hot water and
scrubbing them with an abrasive pad.
SCALE REMOVAL
It is recommended that the appliance be descaled after
every 200 cups of coffee, approximately. It is
recommended that specific products for descaling of
espresso coffee makers be used. These products are
usually available in retail stores. If such products are
not available, the following steps may be taken:
1. Fill the tank with 1 litre of water.
2. Dissolve 2 dessert spoons (about 30 grams) of citric
acid (available in pharmacies) in the water.
3. Press the “On/off” switch and wait until the “OK”
pilot light comes on.
4. Make sure that the filter holder is not attached and
position a container under the drip spout of the
appliance.
5. Press the coffee delivery switch, empty half of the
tank and, from time to time, rotate the steam knob
and allow a little of the solution to come out. Then
stop the flow by pressing the switch again.
6. Allow the solution to sit for about 15 minutes, then
start up the delivery again until the tank is
completely empty.
7. To eliminate residues of the solution and scale, rinse
the tank well, fill it with clean water and insert it
back into its seat. Press the coffee delivery switch
and let the appliance operate until the tank is
completely empty.;
8. Press the switch again and repeat this last
operation one more time.
Repairs to the appliance that are necessitated by scale
problems will not be covered by the guarantee unless
the scale removal described above has been carried
out on a regular basis.
