THE BATTERY
To recharge using a battery charger:
- disconnect the battery,
- follow the user instructions provided by the manufacturer of the charger,
- reconnect starting with the (-) terminal,
- check that the leads and terminals are clean. If they are coated with sulphate (a whitish or greenish deposit),
remove them and clean them.
Before disconnecting the battery, you should wait
2 minutes after switching off the ignition.
Do not disconnect the leads when the engine is running.
Do not recharge batteries without first disconnecting the leads.
Close the windows and doors before disconnecting the battery.
After reconnecting the battery, always switch on the ignition
and wait 1 minute before starting the engine, this in order
to allow the electronic systems to initialise.
However, if after this operation there is any slight
malfunctioning, contact a CITROËN dealer.
To start the engine using a different battery:
- connect the red cable to the (+) terminal on both batteries,
- connect one end of the green or black cable to the (-) terminal of the
additional battery,
- connect the other end of the green or black cable to an earth point on the
vehicle being assisted, as far away as possible from the battery,
- action the starter, allow the engine to run,
- wait for the engine to return to idle, then disconnect the cables.
You are advised, if not using the vehicle for more than a month, to
disconnect the battery.
