Be fore wash ing f or the first time
Do not put any l aundry in the mach ine. Turn th e tap on. Pour into compartment II:

S et prog ramme selector to Eas y-Care 60 °C and press $ S tart /Reload . A t the end of the p rogramm e, turn the
progr amme selector to Off .
Pr otec ting the laun dry an d the m ach ine
When determi ning the dosa ge of all wash ing powders, ad ditives and cleaning agen ts, you mus t follow the
manufact urer's instruct ions.
Empty po ckets.
Look out for m etal item s (paperclips , etc.).
Wash delic ates in a la undry bag (tights, curtains, u nderwired bras) .
Fasten zips, do up any b uttons.
Brush s and out of po ckets and coll ars.
Remove curta in fittings or place in the laundry bag.
Loa d laund ry
For opt imum spin beha viour, load la rge and sma ll items of laundry togeth er.
Individual items may lead to consid erable imbalances .
Take care n ot to trap items of laundr y between the wa shing mach ine door and th e rubber seal .

Pour soaking agen t/detergent into compar tment I I in accordan ce with the manufa cturer's in structions. Tu rn the
progr amme selector to L Cottons 30 °C and press $ Star t /Rel oad. After appr ox. 10 minutes, press
$ S tart/R eload to stop the pr ogramme. Once the required soak ing time has elapsed, press $ Start/Reload again
to conti nue the pr ogramme, or selec t a different programme.
St arch ing L aundry must not be tr eated with fab ric softener
Sta rching is poss ible in all wa sh programmes if liquid starch i s used. Pour s tarch into th e ~ fabric so ftener
compa rtment in acco rdance wi th the manufa cturer's instr uctions (rinse fi rst if necessar y).
Dy eing/ bleac hing
Dy e should only be used in no rmal househ old quantities. Sa lt may dama ge stainless steel. Always follo w the dye
manuf acturer's ins tructions. D o no t use the washi ng machine for bleachin g clothes.
Loa d di splay
The l oad sensor det ects how h eavily the wash ing machine is l oaded. The l aundry is n ot weighed.
Re comm en ded d osage
Ba sed on the selec ted programme an d the detec ted load, th e recommended do sage functi on provides a
reco mmendation for the detergent dos age in %. T he % figure refer s to the recommen dation of the detergent
manuf acturer.
Loa d a djust
Inde pendently of th e load displa y, the automati c load sensi ng function us es addition al sensors to adapt the water and
po wer consumpti on ideally to ea ch programme, depending on the type of fab ric and the load.

De tergent solu tion pump
Turn the progr amme se lector to O ff a nd dis connect the mains plug.
1. O pen and re move the service fla p.
2. T ake the draina ge hose out o f the retain er.
Remove t he sealing cap, allow th e detergent soluti on to flow o ut.
Pu sh the sealing cap back on.
3. Un screw the p ump cover ca refully (residu al water).
4. C lean the int erior, pump c over thread a nd pump hou sing (the impeller in the detergent
soluti on pump m ust be able to r otate).
5. R eplace the p ump cover and screw it on tigh tly. The handl e points upr ight. Replace the
dra inage hose in the holder.
6. R efit the serv ice flap and clo se it.
To prevent unused detergen t from flowing straight into th e empty during the next wash :
Pour 1 litre of water into co mpartment II a nd start the > Drain programme.

1. L oosen the ho se clamp, remove the drainag e hose carefull y (residual w ater).
2. C lean the dr ainage hose and s iphon co nnecting pi ece.

Filt er in the wa ter sup ply
Risk of ele ctric shock
Do not i mmerse the Aqu a-Stop safety de vice in water (it c ontains an electric valve).
Red uce the water pressure in the supply hose:
1. T urn off the tap.
2. S elect any pro gramme (except Spi n/ > Drain).
3. Pre ss $ Start /Reloa d. Let the prog ramme run for approximately 40 seconds .
4. T urn the prog ramme selector to Off . Disconnec t the mains plu g.
Cle an the filter :

The programme continues when the power supply is restored. However, if the laundry has to be removed, the washing
machine doo r can be op ened as follows:

Do not re ach into the drum if it is still r otating.
Do not open the washin g machine d oor if water can b e seen through the g lass.
1. Turn t he programme selec tor to Off and disconnect the mains plug.

3. Pull the emergency release downwards with a tool an d release.
