About the custom dictionary
If the typing input language for your BlackBerry® device is Arabic or Russian, and you type a word or letter combination that your device
does not recognize, your device adds the word or letter combination to the custom dictionary. You can also add words or letter combinations
manually to the custom dictionary.
Your device deletes words from the custom dictionary if you do not use them.
Add a custom dictionary item
Verify that the typing input language is set to Arabic or Russian.
1. In the device options, click Custom Dictionary.
2. Press the Menu key.
3. Click New.
4. Type a word or letter combination.
5. Click the trackball.
6. Click Save.
Change a custom dictionary item
Verify that the typing input language is set to Arabic or Russian.
1. In the device options, click Custom Dictionary.
2. Click a custom dictionary item.
3. Change the custom dictionary item.
4. Click the trackball twice.
5. Click Save.
Delete custom dictionary items
Verify that the typing input language is set to Arabic or Russian.
1. In the device options, click Custom Dictionary.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
• To delete one custom dictionary item, highlight an item. Press the Menu key. Click Delete.
• To delete all custom dictionary items, press the Menu key. Click Clear Custom Dictionary.
Stop adding items to the custom dictionary automatically
Verify that the typing input language is set to Arabic or Russian.
