functions, different settings, water supply temperatures, water hardness and power supply voltage.
2) Programme for energy data label in conformity with EN 50242. - Information for Test Laboratories: for detailed information on the EN/Standard
loading comparison test and other tests, contact the following address: “nk_customer@whirlpool.com”.
3) The antibacterial action has been proven in collaboration with the Pasteur Institute of Lille (France), in conformity with. Standard NF EN 13697 of

1. OVERVIEW
Programme selection button
Press the button (repeatedly) until the indicator lamp of the
desired programme lights up (see table 1.1).
At the end of the wash cycle, the last programme selected is
memorized.
Half Load/Multizone
Load the upper or lower rack only.
Factory setting = Wash upper and lower rack (both indicator
lamps light up)
Press once = Wash lower rack (the indicator lamp lights up)
Press twice = Wash upper rack (the indicator lamp lights up)
At the end of the programme, the most recently selected setting
remains memorised.
If the upper rack is not being washed, the “Wash lower rack”
indicator lamp should be lit.
Antibacterial rinse
3)
This function activates an antibacterial rinse at the end of the
wash cycle, guaranteeing a further reduction of bacteria. Press
the button to activate or deactivate the function. This function
can be used with those programmes marked with the relative
symbol in table 1.1.
The dishwasher door must be kept shut for the entire duration
of the programme in order to guarantee reduction of bacteria. If
the door is opened the indicator lamp starts flashing.
At the end of the programme, the most recently selected setting
remains memorised.
Detergent setting upon initial use and when using a different
type of detergent
Indicator lamp off = Powder/gel detergent (factory setting).
If using combined detergents, press and hold the button for 3
seconds; the indicator lamp lights up = rinse aid and salt
indicators are deactivated.
From water hardness level 5, the salt indicator remains active.
At the end of the programme, the most recently selected setting
remains memorised.
Fault indication and wash time display
In normal operation it indicates the remaining time (h:min),
whereas with “Delayed start” selected it indicates the time
remaining until programme start (e. g. h 01). If using a sensor
programme, a dotted line indicates that the calibration process
is underway (lasting up to 20 minutes).
In the presence of a fault indication “F.. / E..”, refer to Section 5
“What to do if...”.
Delayed Start button
Push the button (repeatedly) to delay the start of the
programme. Adjustable from 1 to 24 hours. With each
successive touch of the button, the delayed start indicator
increases by 1 hour, and after “h 24” returns to “h 00”. Then
press the START button. The wash programme will start after
the set time.
Start/Resume button
The indicator lamp lights up during operation, flashes when the
programme is interrupted before completion and switches off
at the end of the programme.
Cancel/Off button
Press the button to switch the dishwasher off or to interrupt
the selected programme.
If the Cancel/Off indicator lamp flashes repeatedly, this indicates
a fault: see chapter 5 “What to do if...”.
Salt level indicator and rinse aid level indicator
These light up at the end of the programme if salt or rinse aid
needs topping up.
Only add just before starting a wash cycle.

3. HOW TO USE THE APPLIANCE
HOW TO CHECK/FILL/ADJUST SALT
Only
use regeneration salt specifically intended for dishwashers.
a. How to check the salt level
Depending on the model, check the visual indicator . The window on the salt reservoir cap is clear when
salt needs to be added and coloured when the salt present is sufficient. In the case of appliances with an
electric indicator on the control panel, the salt indicator lights up at the end of the wash cycle when salt
needs to be added.
b. How to fill the salt container
- Remove the lower rack.
- Turn the salt container cap anti-clockwise to open it.
- When using the dishwasher for the first time, fill the salt container to the
rim with water.
- To make sure no grains of salt touch the stainless steel components, fill the
salt container up to the rim using a funnel (when filling for the first time, use
min. 0.8 kg and max. 1kg).
- Stir with the handle of a wooden spoon to help dissolve the salt.
- Close the cap of the salt container by turning it clockwise.
- Fit the lower rack.
Once regeneration salt is added,
immediately
start a wash programme (the “Pre-wash”
programme alone is
not
sufficient). Residual saline solution or grains of salt can lead to deep-
down corrosion, irreparably damaging the stainless steel components. The guarantee is not
applicable if faults are caused by such circumstances.
The salt level indicator lamp may remain lit at the end of several wash cycles.
If the water hardness level falls within category 1 (soft),
no
salt is required.
c. How to set the water hardness level
- Press and hold the programme selection button and the Cancel/Off button for at least three seconds.
- The hardness level set is shown on the display (where present) or the LEDs for programmes 1 - 3 indicate
the water hardness setting according to the table below.
- With each successive touch of the programme selection button, the setting increases and when it reaches 7
it returns to 1 again.
- Press and hold the START button or wait 30 seconds for the setting to be saved!
The factory setting for water hardness is 4 for medium-hard water (display 4 or programme 3
LED lights up).
Water hardness level 4 with combined action detergent
Even if you use tablets which include salt functionality, you must still add regeneration salt. They
are not effective enough at softening hard water.
If the appliance is equipped with the “Set detergent type” function (see Section “1. Quick
Reference Guide”) and this function has been selected, the salt indicator remains on starting
from water hardness level 5.
