Call screening at the base
station
When the answering machine is
switched on, you can hear incoming
calls over the loudspeaker and decide
whether to answer them or let your
Diverse 3016 take the message.
Please note that when your Diverse 3016
answers a call, you do not hear your
outgoing message over the loudspeaker.
To speak to your caller
• Press the GREEN PHONE button on
your handset. The answering machine
will stop recording.
To switch call screening on and off
You can prevent incoming callers
messages from being broadcast over
the loudspeaker.
The standard setting is ON, so that
incoming messages can be monitored.
• Press the SET button, then the 9 button.
• Press the 4 button, then the OK ( )
button.
• Press the 0 to switch the setting OFF.
• Press the 1 button to switch the
setting ON.
• Press the OK ( ) button to confirm.
• Press the RED PHONE button to return
to standby.

Additional features for your
answering machine
To adjust the number of rings before
incoming calls are answered
You can select the number of rings
from 1-9, before incoming calls are
answered when your machine is
switched on. Or you can press 0 to
select Time Saver (see below) The
standard setting is 4.
• Press the SET button, then the 9 button.
• Press the 0 button, then the OK ( )
button.
• Press a button between 1-9 to set the
number of rings you want.
(0 = Time Saver)
• Press the OK ( ) button to confirm.
• Press the RED PHONE buttons to
return the handset to standby.
Time saver
Time saver is useful if you ring in from
another phone to see if you have any
new messages.
If you have new messages your Diverse
3016 will answer after 2 rings. If you do
not have any new messages, it will not
answer until 4 rings. This enables you
to hang up before you are connected,
saving you time and money.
