When switched on, your cellphone emits electr omagnetic waves that can interfer e
with the vehicle’ s electronic systems such as ABS anti-lock brak es or airbags. T o
ensure that there is no pr oblem:
- do not place your cellphone on top of the dashboard or within an airbag
deployment area.
- check with your dealer or car manufacturer to make sur e that the car’ s
electronics devices ar e well shielded.

• RADIO WA VES:
THIS CELLPHONE MEETS THE GO VERNMENT’S REQUIREMENTS FOR
EXPOSURE T O RADIO W A VES.
Y our cellphone is a radio transmitter and r eceiver . It is designed and manufactur ed
not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio-frequency (RF) energy .These
limits are part of comprehensive guidelines and establish permitted le vels of RF
energy for the general population. The guidelines are based on standards that were
developed by independent scientific organizations thr ough periodic and thorough
evaluation of scientific studies. These guidelines include a substantial safety margin
designed to ensure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.
The exposure standard for cellphones emplo ys a unit of measurement known as the
Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by public authorities such as the
Federal Communications Commission of the US Gov ernment (FCC) or by Industry
Canada, is 1.6 W/kg a veraged over 1 gram of body tissue. T ests for SAR are
conducted using standard operating positions with the cellphone transmitting at its
highest certified power level in all tested fr equency bands.
Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR
level of the cellphone while operating can be w ell below the maximum value. This is
because the cellphone is designed to operate at multiple power le vels so as to use
only the power r equired to reach the network. In general, the closer you ar e to a
wireless base station antenna, the lo wer the power output of the cellphone. Befor e
a cellphone model is available for sale to the public, compliance with national
regulations and standards must be sho wn.
My cellphone does not charge properl y
• Make sure that your battery is not completely discharged; the
battery charge indicator can take several min utes and may be
accompanied by a quiet hissing sound.
• Make sure charging is carried out under normal conditions (0°C
+40°C)
• Make sure your battery is inserted. It must be inserted bef
ore
plugging in the charger
• Make sure you ar e using an Alcatel battery and charger
• When abroad, check that the electrical current is compatible
• NOTICE: Y our cellphone is not designed for chargers connected
through USB cable to a computer . Please use dedicated charger to
charge your cellphone.
My cellphone does not connect to a network
• T ry connecting in another location
• V erify the network cov erage with your operator
• Check with your operator that your SIM card is valid
• T ry selecting the available netw ork(s) manually
• T ry connecting at a later time if the network is overloaded
SIM card err or
• Make sure the SIM card was corr ectly inserted
• V erify with your operator that your SIM car d is 3V compatible; the
old 5V SIM cards cannot be used
• Make sure the chip on your SIM car d is not damaged or scratched
Unable to make outg oing calls
• Make sure you ha ve dialed a valid number and pr essed the key
• For international calls, make sur e you hav e entered the country and
area codes
• Make sure your cellphone is connected to a netw ork, and that the
network is not ov erloaded or unavailable
• Check your subscription with your operator (credit, SIM car d valid,
etc.)
• Make sure you ha ve not barr ed outgoing calls
The highest SAR value for this cellphone when tested is:
O T -S120A: 1.26 W/kg for use at the ear and 0.74 W/kg for use close to the body
O T -S121A: 1.24 W/kg for use at the ear and 0.70 W/kg for use close to the body
O T -S210A: 1.27 W/kg for use at the ear and 0.97 W/kg for use close to the body .
O T -S211A: 1.32 W/kg for use at the ear and 0.87 W/kg for use close to the body .
O T -V212A: XXX W/kg for use at the ear and XXX W/kg for use close to the body
While there ma y be differences between the SAR lev els of various cellphones and at
various positions, they all meet the government r equirement for RF exposure. For
body-worn operation, the cellphone meets FCC RF exposure guidelines provided
that it is used with a non-metallic accessory with the handset at least 2.0 cm from
the body . Use of other accessories ma y not ensure compliance with FCC RF
exposure guidelines.
The W orld Health Organization (WHO) considers that pr esent scientific
information does not indicate the need for any special pr ecautions for use of
cellphones. If individuals are concerned, they might choose to limit their own or their
children's RF exposure by limiting the length of calls, or using "hands-free" devices to
keep cellphones a way from the head and body (fact sheet n°193). Additional WHO
information about electromagnetic fields and public health ar e available on the
following website: http://www.who .int/peh-emf.
