Intended use

The device is exclusively intended for mowing

well maintained grassed lawn areas.

Only use batteries and chargers authorised by

“AS-Motor Germany” and the engine manufac-

turer. Also see the attached operating instruc-

tions of the engine. Observe the operating in-

structions for the battery and the charger.

Any other use exceeding this purpose is inad-

missible.

Observe the instructions chapter for Mainten-

ance. Otherwise, operational safety is en-

dangered.

The user of the device is responsible for acci-

dents or damage that can happen to other per-

sons or their property.

The device must not be used:

– To cut hard objects, rocks, rubble, or pieces

of wood.

– To trim bushes, hedges, and shrubbery.

– To cut plants in flower pots or planters or on

rooftops.

– To clean (vacuum) footpaths.

– As shredder for shredding tree and hedge

cuttings.

– As drive unit for work tools and any type of

tool sets that are not authorised by

“AS-Motor Germany”.

Get informed!

For your safety, read these operating instruc-

tions carefully. Familiarize yourself with the

control elements and the proper use of the

device. Share these operating instructions with

other users of the device.

Have skilled personnel who were trained by

AS-Motor show you the safe handling of the

device before you work with it for the first time.

Get familiar with the device in a wide, open

and flat terrain first.

User restrictions and hours of

operation

Never allow children or persons who are not

familiar with the operator’s manual to use the

device. Persons under 18 years of age may

operate the device only under proper supervi-

sion. Local regulations determine the minimum

age of the operator and the operating times.

Unsuitable for operation of the device are per-

sons who

– are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or

reaction delaying medications.

– have physical and mental/emotional impair-

ments.

– are tired or sick.

Persons with heart pacemakers

must not touch live parts.

Safe handling of the battery

Observe the information in the operator’s

manual of the battery.

Children cannot recognize the dangers caused

by the battery.

– Keep the battery out of the reach of children.

– Store the battery out of the reach of children

and in electrically non-conductive pack-

aging.

If the battery is exposed to certain environ-

mental conditions, the battery may smoke or

catch fire, causing serious injury or property

damage.

– Keep the battery away from direct sunlight,

heat or open fire.

– Do not throw the battery into fire.

– Observe the permissible temperature range

of the battery.

– Keep the battery away from screws and

other metal objects. Do not shortcircuit the

battery.

– Keep the battery away from microwaves and

high pressure.

– Protect the battery from rain and moisture.

Never immerse the battery in liquids.

– Protect the battery from chemicals and salts.

– Do not drop the battery.

– Store the battery in a clean, dry and closed

place.

– Store the battery separately from the device

and charger in a non-conductive packaging.

Operationally safe condition

The battery is in a safe operating condition

when

– the battery is undamaged.

– the battery is clean and dry.

– the battery is working and has not been

modified.

Only use batteries approved by the engine

manufacturer.

A battery that is not safe can smoke or catch

on fire and cause life-threatening injuries or

major damage to property.

– Do not use a damaged or defective battery.

– Do not charge a damaged or defective bat-

tery.

– If the battery is dirty or wet: Clean the bat-

tery and let it dry.

– Do not open the battery.

– Do not make any changes to the battery.

– Do not insert any objects into the openings

of the battery.

– Do not connect the electrical contacts of the

battery with metallic objects. Do not shortcir-

cuit the battery.

– Do not use unauthorised batteries. Espe-

cially do not use non-rechargeable batteries.

Risk of injury due to damaged or defective

battery

If the battery is damaged, liquid may leak. The

liquid may cause skin irritation and burns.

– Avoid contact with the liquid.

– In case of contact with skin: Clean affected

skin areas with sufficient soap and water

and seek medical attention.

– In case of eye contact: Clean affected skin

areas with sufficient water and seek medical

attention.

A damaged or defective battery may smoke or

catch on fire and cause life-threatening injuries

or major damage to property.

– If the battery smokes: Do not use the battery

and keep it away from flammable materials.

– If the battery is burning: Use a fire extin-

guisher or extinguish with water.

– If the battery in the charger is burning: Pull

the mains plug of the charger from the

mains socket. Use a fire extinguisher or ex-

tinguish water.

Always store and transport a damaged or de-

fective battery in such a way that smoke or fire

cannot endanger people or cause damage to

property.

Safe handling of the charger

Observe the operator’s manual of the charger.

Children cannot recognize the dangers caused

by the charger.

– Keep the charger out of the reach of chil-

dren.

– Store the charger out of the reach of chil-

dren.

If the charger is exposed to certain environ-

mental conditions, the charger may smoke or

catch fire, causing serious injury or property

damage. Damage to the charger and connect-

ing cable can cause an electric shock or short

circuit.

– Do not use the charger in a potentially ex-

plosive environment or in places with com-

bustible material.

– Do not use the charger on a flammable sur-

face.

– Only use the charger in a clean, dry and

closed room.

– Observe the permissible temperature range

of the charger.

– Make sure that the mains voltage and fre-

quency match the specifications on the char-

ger.

– Keep the charger’s contacts away from

screws and other metal objects.

– Protect the charger from rain and moisture.

Avoid spilling liquids over the charger.

– Allow the charger to cool down before stor-

age.

– Do not drop the charger.

– Store use the charger in a clean, dry and

closed room.

– Store the charger separately from the device

and battery.

– Do not use the connecting cable to carry or

pull the charger.

– Use the rear wall bracket to hang the char-

ger.

– Do not unplug the power cord from the wall

outlet by any means other than the power

plug. Unplug the power cord from the power

outlet when not using the charger.

Operationally safe condition

The charger is in a safe operating condition

when

– the charger is undamaged.

– the charger is clean and dry.

– the charger is working and has not been

modified.

Only use chargers approved by the engine

manufacturer.

Only use the charger if the connection cable

and mains plug are undamaged.

Using a charger that is not safe to use can

cause serious injury.

– Do not use a damaged or defective charger.

– If the charger is dirty or wet: Clean the char-

ger and allow it to dry.

– Do not open the charger.

– Do not make any changes to the charger.

– Do not insert any objects into the openings

of the charger.

– Do not connect the electrical contacts of the

charger with metallic objects. Do not short-

circuit the charger.

– Only charge approved batteries. Especially

do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

Risk of injury due to damaged or defective

charger.

A damaged or defective charger may smoke

and cause injury or damage to property.

– Pull the mains plug from the mains socket.

During the charging process, the charger may

overheat, catch fire and cause life-threatening

injuries or major material damage if there is in-

sufficient ventilation.

– Do not cover the charger.

– Use the rear wall bracket to hang the char-

ger.

If multiple chargers are connected to one

power outlet, electrical lines may be over-

loaded, catch fire and cause life-threatening in-

jury or major property damage during charging.

– Do not use power strips.

– Do not use extension cords or cable drums.

Check the device prior to use

Prior to use, check the blade, drive and fasten-

ing parts, cables and cable connections for

proper working condition and firm seating by

visual inspection.

Never use the device with defective or missing

covers, impact protection or mulching plate.

Do not remove, change or override any safety

devices or control elements.

Observe the maintenance instructions (see

chapter Maintenance).

Have an authorised service centre check your

device if the blade does not stop within

3seconds.

Danger area

Fig.1:

Within the danger area of the device, there is a

risk of injury.

The rotating knife can cause injuries and ob-

jects can be thrown out. The area in front of

and to the right of the device is especially dan-

gerous.

On slopes, the device can topple over and

slide towards persons or run them over.

Make sure

– that nobody else besides the user is on the

mowing area.

– that people are never positioned in the direc-

tion of travel in front of the device.

– that nobody is positioned on the slope below

the device.

– that you have a complete overview of the

danger area at all times.

– that you keep your hands and feet away

from the rotating parts.

Use caution during operation

Danger of injury during motor start

The motor must not be started,

– When other persons are in close proximity.

Start the device only when your feet are at a

safe distance to the blade.

When the engine is started, do not tilt the

device.

Risk of injury when the motor is running

Switch off the engine and wait until the blade

stops

– when you drive on surfaces other than

grass.

– before you adjust the cutting height.

– before you remove the safety key.

– before you remove the battery.

Switch off the engine, wait for the blade to stop

and remove the safety key and remove the

battery.

– before you tilt or transport the device.

– before you step away from the device, even

for just a short time.

– before you clean or check the device or be-

fore you carry out work on the device.

– before you unblock or unclog the discharge

area.

Prior to mowing

Personal protective measures

During mowing, always wear

safety shoes with good grip and

long trousers. Do not mow with

open sandals or while shoeless.

Wear safety gloves to protect

yourself against injuries and vi-

brations.

Noise is causing health prob-

lems. Use personal ear protec-

tion to avoid hearing damage.

Wear safety glasses and

headgear.

Ask your specialised dealer about suitable pro-

tective equipment.

Preparing the mowing area

Prior to mowing, carefully check the perimeter

of the lawn. Remove rocks, pieces of wood,

bones, wires, and other objects that could be

picked up and thrown out by the device.

Remove live cables from the mowing area.

These can be damaged during mowing and

cause an electric shock or short circuit.

Use caution when mowing

Risk of injury

Risk of injury caused by ejected objects. Never

mow when persons, children, pets or material

assets are in the danger area.

Keep your hands and feet away from the rotat-

ing parts. Keep a distance to the ejection area

while working with the device.

Make sure that help can be provided in case of

an emergency.

Only mow during daylight or with adequate arti-

ficial lighting. Never mow in the event of uncer-

tain weather conditions and risk of lightning.

Be especially carefully when mowing on soft

ground, nearby landfills, ditches, dikes and wa-

ter edges.

Avoid mowing damp grass, there is a sliding

risk!

Be extremely cautious when turning the device

round or pulling it toward you and when mov-

ing in reverse.

Always walk slowly!

Never lift or carry the device when the engine

is running.

Pay attention to traffic when working close to

roads.

Vibrations

When the device is used over a longer period

of time, vibrations can cause disturbances in

the blood supply of the hands. A generally ac-

cepted usage time cannot be determined.

– Use gloves.

– Take breaks on time.

Have an authorised service centre check the

device

– when the blade has hit an object.

– if the device starts to vibrate unusually

severely.

Mowing surfaces with fire hazard

– Carry a sufficient amount of suitable extin-

guishing media.

– Observe the mowed area even after mowing

to make sure that no fire breaks out.

To prevent a fire hazard, always keep the fol-

lowing components free of dirt, grass, hay,

leaking oil, grease, etc.:

– Engine

Caution when mowing slopes

Fig.3:

Risk of injury during mowing on slopes due to

tipping over or sliding.

– Mow on steep terrain only when safe opera-

tion can be guaranteed.

– Do not mow excessively steep slopes.

– Take suitable precautions on steep slopes,

e.g. by using step irons.

– Always mow crossways to the slope, never

upwards or downwards.

– Always pay attention to step safely, wear

non-slip safety shoes.

– Be extremely cautious when changing the

direction.

– Mow only when the ground is dry and has a

good grip.

When facing downhill, the device can roll

away. Park the device on level ground only

and secure it against rolling away.

If the device tilts or slips

– If you attempt to stop a device that is tilting

or slipping, severe injuries can result. If tilt-

ing or sliding cannot be stopped in the be-

ginning without endangering anyone, do not

continue to try to stop the device.

– Remove leaking fluids (oil, fuel, battery acid)

from the device and the floor. Deposit of

contaminated soil environment friendly ac-

cording to the local regulation.

– Undetectable damage may have occurred to

the device. In case of malfunctions, there is

a risk of injury. Have an authorised service

centre check the device.

When work is completed

Before leaving the device, wait until the engine

stops, remove the safety key and remove the

battery,

– to prevent unauthorised use.

– to prevent accidental starting.

After switching it off, let the device cool down

for at least 20 minutes before you store it in a

dry, closed, sufficiently ventilated room.

Use caution during maintenance

and repair

Only carry out work as described in these op-

erating instructions. Have an authorised ser-

vice centre perform all other work.

Only use the blades and spare parts author-

ised by “AS-Motor Germany”. Unauthorised

blades and spare parts can cause severe injur-

ies.

Prior to all maintenance work, wait until the en-

gine stops, remove the safety key and remove

the battery.

We explicitly point out that, in accordance with

the Product Liability Act, we are not liable for

damages that were caused by our devices if

– worn or damaged parts were not repaired or

replaced on time.

– these damages were caused by improper

repair.

– when changing a part, our original parts or

parts authorised by us were not used.

– the repair work was not carried out by an au-

thorised service station.

The same applies for spare parts and

accessories.

Engine brake lever (1)

The engine brake lever is a guard device.

When you release the lever, the engine is shut

off immediately, the knife comes to a standstill

within 3 seconds.

0: Switching off the engine

Release the engine brake lever.

I: Operating position

Lift the engine brake lever, engage latch knob

(2) and press the engine brake lever towards

the handlebar.

After releasing the motor brake bracket, the re-

start interlock is automatically active. Wait

2seconds before you restart the engine.

Drive lever (3 - only for devices with drive)

With the drive lever, you switch the drive on

and off.

I: Drive on:

Pull the bar towards the handlebar.

0: Drive off:

Release the bar.

Height adjustment of handlebar

1. Loosen the two knobs (4) on the handlebar.

2. Swivel the handlebars to the desired posi-

tion and screw both knobs back on.

Safety key(2)

The safety key is a protective device and is

located under the battery cover(3) The

safety key activates and deactivates the en-

gine circuit.

Safety key inserted:

Device is ready to start.

Safety key removed:

The device is not ready to start and locked.

Information on mowing

Prior to mowing, check the device for com-

pleteness, proper function, and cleanliness. A

dirty ventilation grid causes overheating of the

engine which can result in engine damage.

For your grass to grow beautiful and thick,

mow frequently and keep the grass short. Do

not mow your lawn too low in dry and hot con-

ditions because the lawn is susceptible to sun

and heat damage and will look unsightly!

Only mow with a sharp and undamaged blade

so that the blades of grass do not fray. Have

the blade sharpened and balanced regularly

(authorised service centre).

Do not mow when the grass is wet or when it is

raining. The turf may be damaged and there is

a danger of slipping!

Turn the device around only in already mown

sections. Do not leave the device unattended

while the engine is running.

To evenly distribute grass remains and to

achieve an even cutting height, we recom-

mend, for flat terrain, to proceed according to

the illustrated mowing pattern.

A mulching mower shreds the clippings better

and finer than a conventional mowers. For an

optimal cutting pattern, please heed the follow-

ing recommendations.

Recommendations for mowing with

mulching mowers:

– Mow only 1/3 of the grass height.

– Do not set the brush height to the lowest po-

sition. Recommendation: 50-60mm.

– Work under dry conditions.

– Start with slow speed.

– The slower you drive the better the cutting

result.

– If the grass is too high, you should mow in

maximum cutting height first and later mow

again in the recommended cutting height.

– If clumps form or the mulching layer is too

thick, the air exchange of the soil can be re-

stricted. Areas of rot can result.

Prior to starting

Charging the battery

The battery can be charged at any time. Inter-

rupting the charging process will not damage

the battery.

Charge the battery before using it for the first

time to get the full battery life. Let a warm bat-

tery cool down before charging.

1. Connect the connecting cable to the char-

ger.

2. Connect the power plug to a power outlet.

3. Place the battery in the charger. Make

sure that the battery is inserted correctly.

4. When the battery is fully charged, unplug

the charger from the power outlet.

5. Remove the battery from the charger.

Battery status

Warning

A damaged or defective battery may smoke

or catch on fire and cause life-threatening

injuries or major damage to property.

► Do not use a damaged or defective bat-

tery.

► Dispose of a damaged or defective bat-

tery immediately in accordance with local

regulations.

► Follow the instructions in the chapters

"Safe handling of the battery" and "Safe

handling of the charger".

The LED on the charger indicates the battery

status:

LED Significance

flashes green Battery is charging

is green Battery is completely charged

is red Battery is too warm

flashes red Error during charging or bat-

tery defective

When the LED flashes red:

Remove the battery from the charger. Wait 1

minute and insert the battery into the charger.

If the LED flashes red again, remove the bat-

tery again and unplug the charger. Wait 1

minute, insert the battery into the charger and

plug in the charger. If the LED continues to

flash red, the battery is defective and must be

replaced.

Please observe the operating instructions for

the battery and the charger.

Checking the battery’s charging

status

A B

Press button(A) on the battery. The LEDs(B)

light up for approx. 5seconds and indicate the

battery’s charging status.

LED Battery capacity

4 LEDs 80% - 100%

3 LEDs 60% - 80%

2 LEDs 40% - 60%

1 LED 25% - 40%

LEDs off less than 25 %,

the battery must be charged.

Changing the battery

Removing the battery

1. Open the battery cover (3).

2. Pull off the safety key (2).

3. Push the battery into the battery compart-

ment and press the release button (A).

4. Remove the battery (9).

Inserting the battery

1. Open the battery cover(3).

2. Insert the battery (9) in the battery com-

partment until the compartment locks aud-

ibly.

Adjusting cutting height

Adjust the cutting height setting only when the

engine is switched off.

Set the cutting height so that the blade does

not touch the ground even in case of terrain

unevenness. If the cutting height is set too

high, objects can be ejected and the “clean cut

appearance” can be destroyed.

Fig.5:

The cutting height can be adjusted in 5 posi-

tions from 4 cm to 8 cm.

1. Switch off the engine and wait until the

blade has come to a standstill.

2. Push the central adjustment lever(1) back-

wards and push the device at the guide bar

to the desired height.

Starting

Danger

Danger of electric shock from live cables on

the mowing area. Live cables can be dam-

aged during mowing and cause an electric

shock or short circuit.

► Make sure that the mowing area is free

of live cables.

Warning

During startup, there is a risk of injury

caused by the rotating blade.

► Make sure that no one is within the

danger zone of the blade. Do not tip the

device over to one side during startup.

Starting the device

1. Place the device on even terrain and not in

high grass.

2. Insert the safety key.

3. Lift the engine brake bracket completely.

4. Press the latch knob.

5. Actuate and hold the engine brake handle.

Automatic load detection

The engine is equipped with automatic load

detection.

– To save energy, the engine runs at idle

speed at low load.

– If a higher load is detected, the engine auto-

matically increases the speed to the max-

imum speed.

Automatic switch-off

The engine is equipped with an automatic

switch-off to prevent overload. The automatic

switch-off is indicated by short, repeating sig-

nal tones.

– 2 signal tones:

The battery voltage has dropped below 57 V

Charge the battery or replace the battery.

– 3signal tones:

The current consumption was too high for a

short time. Wait for 5 seconds and restart

the device.

– 5signal tones:

Engine or battery is overheated. Clean the

ventilation grid. Wait for 10 seconds and re-

start the device.

Driving (devices with drive)

Warning

Risk of injury due to tripping or slipping

when pulling backwards and turning.

► Make sure that your path is free of

obstacles and ensure safe footing.

Driving

In case of a dangerous situation, switch off the

blade by releasing the engine brake bar.

Notice

If you do not engage the traction drive com-

pletely, the transmission will be overheated

and damaged.

► Do not try to control the driving speed

with the drive bar.

► Always pull the drive bar all the way to-

wards the handlebar.

► Check regularly the settings of the trac-

tion drive, at the latest when the driving

force diminishes (see Maintenance).

Drive on

1. Pull the drive bar towards the handlebar –

device starts moving.

Drive off:

1. Release the drive lever.

Turning

Turn the device round only where the grass

has been mowed already.

Turning round on an even surface:

1. Switch off the drive.

2. Turn the device to the desired side.

3. Switch the drive back on.

Turning round on a sloping area:

1. Keep the drive switched on.

2. Turn the device upslope.

3. Hold back the handlebar and the inner

wheel.

The drive prevents sliding and supports the

turn manoeuvre.

Driving (devices without

drive)

Warning

Risk of injury caused by tripping or sliding

while pushing the mower, moving it back-

wards and turning it round.

► Make sure that the area is clear of ob-

jects and watch for safe footing.

Turning

Turn the device round only where the grass

has been mowed already.

Switching off and parking

Warning

On a slope, the device can roll away.

► Put the device on even ground only or

secure it against rolling away.

Warning

Risk of injury due to unauthorised use.

► Make sure that the security key is re-

moved before leaving the device.

1. Release the drive lever (devices with

drive).

2. Release the engine brake bar.

3. Wait for the engine to stop completely be-

fore you step away from the device.

4. Pull off the safety key.

5. Remove the battery.

Transport

Transporting the device

Switch off the engine and wait until the blade

stops before you lift the device. The device

may only be lifted by two people.

Remove the safety key and remove the bat-

tery.

Prior to each transport, let the device cool

down for at least 20 minutes.

For transport, fold down the handlebar again.

During transport on vehicles, secure the device

against rolling, sliding, tilting, and fuel leakage.

Observe the instructions in chapter Switching

off and parking.

Transporting the battery

The battery is subject to the legal regulations

for dangerous goods. For commercial trans-

port, special requirements must be met and all

applicable local and state laws must be com-

plied with.

Always store and transport a damaged or de-

fective battery in such a way that smoke or fire

cannot endanger people or cause damage to

property.

Transport the battery in an electrically non-con-

ductive packaging or an electrically non-con-

ductive transport container.

Pack the battery so that the battery cannot

move. Secure the packaging or transport con-

tainer so that the packaging or transport con-

tainer cannot move.

Do not expose the battery to direct sunlight. Do

not leave the battery in a vehicle.

Maintenance

Warning

Risk of injury due to unexpected movement.

When inspections are carried out, the

device can move unexpectedly.

► Make sure that no persons or objects are

in the danger area of the blade.

► Make sure that no further hazards result

from an unexpected movement.

Warning

Risk of injury during maintenance and

cleaning work when the engine is running.

► Perform maintenance tasks only then

with a running engine if this is required in

the Maintenance table.

Prior to all maintenance and cleaning work

when the engine is not running:

1. Pull off the safety key.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Let the device cool down for at least 20

minutes.

Improper maintenance can make the device

unsafe for operation and result in accidents.

Regular maintenance keeps your device ready

for use.

Service the device according to the following

maintenance instructions.

Contact an authorised service centre if prob-

lems during maintenance occur or if you de-

termine deficiencies during one of the following

Cleaning the device

Depending on use, clean the device thor-

oughly, especially the bottom and the blade.

Grass cuttings and dirt that are stuck interfere

with the grass ejection and impair the cutting

quality. To sufficiently cool the engine, keep

the engine cover, ventilation grid and engine

clean.

For cleaning, use a hand brush. Remove stub-

born dirt with a wooden or plastic spatula.

Clean the outside housing parts with a cloth.

Do not clean the device, the battery and the

charger with water spray or high-pressure

cleaner! Do not use any aggressive cleaning

agents.

General inspection

To make sure that the device can be operated

safely, check all nuts, bolts, screws etc. regu-

larly for proper condition and firm seating.

Check all electrical cables for damage.

Immediately replace damaged or worn parts,

especially covers, engine enclosure, battery

cover, safety key and charger (authorised ser-

vice centre).

Check all parts that contain fluids for leaks and

proper condition. These can be: Gearboxes,

battery.

In case of leaks contact an authorised service

centre.

Maintaining the engine

The engine manufacturer has prepared the op-

erating manual of the engine. The manual con-

tains all maintenance requirements and war-

ranty conditions for the engine. If warranty

work at the engine is required, contact your au-

thorised service centre or the next authorised

dealer for engines.

To ensure a long service life of the engine, suf-

ficient engine cooling is required.

Always keep

- the engine cover (ventilation grid)

clean.

Checking the safety key

Check the safety key for proper function. It

must not be possible to start the engine with

the battery inserted when the safety key is re-

moved.

Checking the battery and the

charger

Warning

A damaged or defective battery may smoke

or catch on fire and cause life-threatening

injuries or major damage to property.

► Do not use a damaged or defective bat-

tery.

► Dispose of a damaged or defective bat-

tery immediately in accordance with local

regulations.

► Follow the instructions in the chapters

"Safe handling of the battery" and "Safe

handling of the charger".

Warning

Danger of electric shock when the charger

is plugged in.

► Unplug the power cord from the power

outlet before cleaning or checking the

charger.

Check the battery and the charger for visible

damage. Immediately replace a damaged bat-

tery or a damaged charger.

Check the battery status (see chapter Char-

ging the battery).

Please observe the operating instructions for

the battery and the charger.

Checking the battery compartment

on the device

Check if the battery is correctly engaged in the

battery compartment. Check if the release but-

ton in the battery compartment releases the

battery correctly. Contact an authorised service

centre if this is not the case.

Please observe the operating instructions for

the battery and the charger.

Checking the drive (devices with

drive)

1. Put the device on a non-slip surface (e.g.

concrete or asphalt).

2. Switch off the engine.

3. Actuate the drive.

4. Try to pull the device backwards.

If the rear wheels lock, the drive is correctly ad-

justed. If you can pull the device, the drive

must be re-adjusted.

Readjusting the drive

The drive can be readjusted in two places.

1. Turn the nut(1) in the direction of the drive

lever.

2. Lock the counternut (2) against the nut (1).

Or:

1. Turn the sleeve(3) on the drive away from

the nut(4).

2. Tighten the nut(4) by turning it towards the

sleeve.

Adjust the drive so that

– the wheels are blocked when the drive is ac-

tuated when the drive is pulled,

– the wheels turn freely when the drive is actu-

ated.

If there is no improvement after the adjust-

ment, have the device checked by an author-

ised service centre.

Notice

If the drive is not correctly adjusted, the

gearbox can overheat and be damaged.

Checking the blade

Warning

Wear or damage on the blades and the

fastening elements can result in the blades

or the fastening elements coming off.

► Check the blades and all fastening ele-

ments according to the following instruc-

tions.

Warning

There is a considerable risk of injury due to

improperly mounted and maintained blades.

► Work at blades must be carried out by an

authorised service centre.

Use solid gloves when you check

the blade.

Work on the blade requires specific expertise

because an imbalance inspection is necessary

and torques must be observed.

Blades that are sharpened improperly increase

the workload of the device and can result in vi-

bration cracks or breaks.

Check the blade and all fastening elements for

wear, damage and cracks

– each time before and after you mow.

– in case of noticeable changes or unusual vi-

brations.

Contact an authorised service centre if you de-

tect faults or damage during inspection.

All shown blade parts and their fastening ele-

ments must be changed

– if damage or cracks are detected.

– if unusually strong vibrations occur.

– at least once a year or every 50 operating

hours, no matter if wear does exist or not.

The material weakens, can suffer cracks, en-

dangering people and material assets. Ejected

broken pieces can cause severe injuries.

Unusual vibrations are an indication that

– blades are missing or broken,

– the blade is worn excessively or on one side

– damage to the engine or cutter deck fasten-

ing.

Blade change

It is absolutely necessary to change the blade:

– When one of the wear markings(1) was

reached. Original blades are engraved with

wear markings (marking in form of a ball-

shaped imprint on the rear side of the

blade).

– When the thickness of the blade at the rear

edge of the vane(2) or at another point is

below 1mm (exception: cutting edge).

An original AS-blade is engraved with:

The engraving shows the spare part number.

Checking engine brake

Check the function of the engine brake by

switching off the engine. The blade must come

to a standstill from full speed within less than

3seconds. Contact an authorised service

centre if this is not the case.

Assembly

Scope of delivery

The device is shipped in a carton.

The scope of delivery includes:

– The device.

– The safety key.

– This operating manual.

– Manufacturer’s certificate.

– Operator’s manual of the engine manufac-

turer.

Unpacking

1. Remove all loose parts from the box.

2. Cut open the front side of the box.

3. Move the device out of the box.

4. Remove the attached safety key from the

device.

2. Unscrew both knobs(2) all the way.

3. Swivel the handlebar(3) into the desired

position.

4. Screw both knobs back in and tighten

them.

5. Tighten the two cable ties(4) at the bar.

2. Fold the guide bar forward.

Storage

Warning

A damaged or defective battery may smoke

Remove the safety key and remove the bat-

tery.

Please also observe the storage instructions in

the enclosed operating manual of the motor

manufacturer and in the operating manual of

the battery and charger.

Store the device in a locked, dry and suffi-

ciently ventilated room and out of reach of chil-

dren. Always rectify faults of the device before

storage so that the device is always in opera-

tionally safe condition. Let the engine cool

down before you store the device in closed

rooms.

Keep the battery and security key separate

from the device to prevent unauthorised use.

Longer storage

1. Thoroughly clean the device.

2. Touch up any possible damage to the

paint finish (for paint, see Accessories).

Before longer storage, e.g. in the fall, have an

authorised service centre check the device!

Notice

Do not store the battery in a fully charged or

discharged state.

► Store the battery with a charge level

between 40 % and 60 %.

Restarting

If you want to start the device after a longer

storage, carry out the tasks described in

chapter Maintenance.

Spare parts

The reliable and safe operation of the device

also depends on the quality of the spare parts

used. Only use original spare parts and ac-

cessories approved by “AS-Motor Germany”.

When foreign parts are installed, the warranty

and guarantee shall be void for the foreign

parts, the device, and for any resulting dam-

age.

Inform your authorized service center about

the device type and serial number of your

device when you order spare parts.

Via www.as-motor.com you have direct access

to our spare parts portal. Here you can quickly

find the right spare part using the search func-

tion and print out the corresponding spare

parts list. This makes it easier for you to place

the subsequent order via your authorised spe-

cialist workshop, stating the device type and

the serial number of your device.

Wear parts

Some parts are wear parts. They wear during

use and must be replaced. The warranty does

not cover the following parts:

Blades, cutting blades, cutter bars, blade bolts,

sliding plates, V-belt, chains, Bowden cables,

starter ropes, pressure plates, air filters, spark

plugs, disc springs, lock washers, fuses, discs,

thrust plates, pressure discs, protection skirts,

impact protection, wheels, tires.

Disposal

Lawn cuttings should not be thrown in the

trash, but should be composted.

Shredded plant material decomposes quickly

and can be used as fertilizer and, therefore, be

left on the ground.

Dispose of waste oil and fuel in accordance

with the local regulations or return it to an oil

shop.

According to the European Directive 2012/19/

EU on waste electrical and electronic equip-

ment and its implementation in national law,

old electrical equipment must be collected sep-

arately and recycled in an environmentally

sound manner. Please contact your dealer or

your municipal or city administration for inform-

ation on disposal options for waste electronic

equipment.

Before disposal, remove the safety key from

the device and remove the battery.

Batteries do not belong in the household

waste, but must be disposed of separately.

– Discharge a used battery and take the bat-

tery to a public disposal or collection point.

– Dispose of a damaged or defective battery

immediately in accordance with local regula-

tions.

Packagings are made of recyclable materials

and must be disposed of accordingly.

together with your sales receipt.
